Kxbc Turbocharged May 8, 2009 Share May 8, 2009 I saw this in another website and thought maybe with a wider reach, perhaps dog owners/potential dog owners may be willing to adopt a couple of these cute fellas into their lives. Adopt these doggies "Hi ya Please help...my friend has been feeding this pack of puppies and their mom at Kallang Industrial Park for the past week or so now and they are in desperate need of a home cos where they are hanging out, there are all these trucks and cars going about and these puppies have no idea that the cars and trucks are dangerous! Just recently, one of the puppies accidentally fell into a drain and drowned! So please either adopt one or pass on to your friends so they can all be saved...incidentally, the pups are all coming to an age where their mom will soon abandon them cos that's how it is so.... If you are interested, please either call Christina at 9747 8468 or email her at [email protected] Thanks so much. http://s727.photobucket.com/albums/w...mk_007/pupies/" These doggies are really cute. Just that I can't adopt any since they will grow up to be medium size dogs and I am not rich enough to live in a landed property (at least for the next 50 years). ↡ Advertisement

Parkingidiot 1st Gear May 8, 2009 Share May 8, 2009 just asking as not sure of procedure... but is it better to let SPCA know about them, then just let them be on their own like this. Like mentioned, they may get into traffic accident and die or get maimed.. and that's so cruel. And it make also cause accident for the vehicle, which may try and siam and hit another vehicle. So to prevent potential death and destruction, would it be better to get SPCA to take them in and try and find owners?
MLS Clutched May 8, 2009 Share May 8, 2009 All along my mindset about spca is they always put animals to sleep. I remember some bros in mcf went to do a search for some dogs some time ago somewhere. If i didn't remember wrongly, a few of them met up to conduct the search. Any comments from those bros? Maybe they can help these cute little puppies? Wanderer Clutched May 8, 2009 Share May 8, 2009 So to prevent potential death and destruction, would it be better to get SPCA to take them in and try and find owners? SPCA has been overcrowded for many years already, thus alot of them are put to sleep. So calling them is the same as sending the dogs to their deaths. That's why they have those ads saying never buy pets on impulse. Alot of them ended up as strays
Ahseng 5th Gear May 9, 2009 Share May 9, 2009 actually for these puppies, SPCA might not be a bad idea. b4 i adopted my dog there (went 2 times), ppl are almost ALWAYS asking for puppies, they seem to see no up old or fully grown dogs to adopt. ..as these are puppies, i think they have a good chance for adoption. That one is straightaway put to sleep.

Nope, times changed. Me n my fren found a litter of really young puppies (ard 5 or 6) abandoned at an heavy vehicle park few months back. I also had the same thoughts as you, as in they will be suitable for adoption due to their age and subsequently called SPCA and informed them about the puppies. SPCA called me back once to confirm the puppies location and told me once they rescue them, any further action on the puppies will depend on management decision. Few days later, my fren go down to SPCA with the intention of visiting the rescued puppies and guess what?? All of them had been put to sleep.. I still feel guilty as and when i thought back this incident.

Ahseng 5th Gear May 10, 2009 Share May 10, 2009 man...that sux. But SPCA also LL, not enuf space and $$ to house every stray in SG. actually bottom line lies with the mindset of people. Do not buy pets and throw them away when they aren't cute anymore. Do not let pets anyhow breed. B4 buying consider adoption first.

Watwheels Supersonic May 10, 2009 Share May 10, 2009 These kinda dogs are difficult for ppl to adopt unless someone bring these pups go door to door in industrial parks to see who wanna adopt them as guard dogs for their premises.

Kxbc Turbocharged May 11, 2009 Author Share May 11, 2009 it's sad that mongrels are not HDB approved and as a result, most of them have to be PTS It's not that mongrels are not HDB approved but just that most mongrels when fully grown, exceed the size limit set by HDB for pet dogs. More likely than not, these puppies will grow up to quite a large size. Would be best if someone who can/will adopt them will have a garden or stay in a large pte apt so that it will have a bit of room to move around before taken for its daily morning and/or evening walk/jog. Mongrels are typically medically stronger than pure breeds (darwin's law at work). So if anyone is interested, please adopt one. If can't, please help spread the word around, esp to dog loving friends/family members. ↡ Advertisement
