He was caught on 1st April, so long ago....

Maybe he was hiding in an illegal FT quarters, M'sia polis raided the place without knowing he's there until much later. [laugh]

Maybe his capture was an April Fool's joke.

Goes to show the pathetic state of our journalistic integrity.

Stinkapore reporters are simply put, the least of the noblest profession here.

actuall who actually caught him...isnt it a joint effort as mentioned in the press?

One side said their information given to the Malaysian led to his arrest while the other side said "He was planning something and that led to our arresting of him." but they also mentioned that "..the arrest was made possible as police in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia had been sharing intelligence reports over the past year."

IMHO, the joint effort here is the "sharing of intelligence reports" among the 3 countries.

Maybe extra kopi bonus does motivate them somehow but at least they did a very good job this round

Our local cops may or may not accept kopi lui

But they can never accomplish big task

IMHO local cops are only good at easy prey

Almost all hardcore criminals managed to escape out of S'pore either never even been found or being caught with the help of others

Mas apart i remember year back S'pore only found out a hardcore gangster murderer had hidden in Amsterdam for donkey years only to be found out that he's a Singaporean after he being shot in a gangland battle

Actually catching him alive is already not bad, most of the time the reports that do make it out to Singapore state that the criminals fought back and they ended up being gunned down.
