Pchmj Clutched May 15, 2009 Share May 15, 2009 is like that one.... what's new? okay, to clear doubts... take mazda3 2.0 for a simple calculation: OMV 23K so the actual cost shall be $23K x 2.27 = $52,210 Cat B COE = $7,500 warehousing, transportation, insurance, other fix cost etc etc = $5K Total: $52210+7500+5000 = $64710 Selling price: $75988 PROFIT: 75988-64710 = $11278. who say Mazda got a profit of $20K in the first place??? If based on that, TC can close shop already. Nissan Latio premium OMV $19,600 (from sgcarmart) $19,600 x 2.27 = 44,492 Cat A COE = $8,489 warehousing, transportation, insurance, other fix cost etc etc = $5K Total: $57,981. Profit: $58,000* - $57,981 = $19 *price taken from http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2638039 ↡ Advertisement

Axela72 5th Gear May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 Yesterday, I managed to see the new mazda 3 1st time displayed in Suntec. I can't believe those ppls can have such a mentally saying that the new mazda 3 look ugly. It has slight similarity as honda civic 2 door type R and peugeot 307, but infact much better looking than them. I suspect those ppls if they don't think the 2 door type R or peugeot 307 is ugly but mazda 3 only, they are a bunch of mazda batch racist folk. Axela72 5th Gear May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 beauty is in the eye of the beholder. some like, some won't like, get over it I understand where you are coming from. But I can't help if those folks doesn't penalize other brands with similar look but Mazda 3 only. Whose know if the "H" badge come with exactly Mazda 3 look, those folks might be saying different story. If that is true, that means they are targeting (racist) at the brand rather than the actual value of the car.

Renegade777 5th Gear May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 (edited) Frankly, a car must look like a car. It must not be too fanciful and some manufacturers like Toyota managed to capture peoples' heart all around the world with their makes. The Toyota engineering is good but the design is so so only and to some extend being uncle-looking but this is exactly what many common folks wants. Something not sporty or eye catching giving status of a what a family car should be. Many do not want to be caught driving a car too chio looking but in actual fact it is just a normal sedan especially if it means pay more. If I can afford it I dont mind paying for a performance car with killer looks. But I wont get a killer looking car but lacking in performance. I must admit the design for Mazda3 is chio. In fact too trendy leow and I drool over it. Some people look further in a car and what suit him or her best. I wont be surprise people here also like that. Looks do not always sell especially for cars. It is about paying for something that money must be worth spending, something above looks. Quantum 5th Gear May 21, 2009 Share May 21, 2009 I mean come on... 76K ? I can buy almost 2 Hyundai Advante Kia Forte or I also can settle for one MIJ car... Civic, LancerEX 1.6L at 105hp and 144Nm, thats Ah-Gong technology... newer 1.6L are running at least 120+hp compare to Civic FD 1.6A $79,800, this price is acceptable

Either we want a normal look girlfriend but is intelligent or a pretty girlfriend but a bimbo. If you want a "mistress" as you have already a old but wise wife, which one will you choose?
