iirc, subaru is not ckd condition, thus cbu n paying 3OO% tax/duty.

on top of tis, u hv 2buy an AP=approved permit for imported rides.

when anwar was finance minister, in order to compete wit 2L imported rides,

2L perdana was introduced for local assembly.

think Rm5k incentive still waiting for cabinet approval for scrap old ride to take local assembled.

My simple search shows that all Jap are quite expensive now due to Yen [sweatdrop] [sweatdrop] [sweatdrop] Luckily I got mine last year, if not the price I pay can not even pay for a 1.5 Jazz [sweatdrop]

wah, FD4 $78k !!!

I bought my FD2 at $79K 1 year+ ago (COE also higher than now). Can the economist here kindly explain why yen has sky rocket by so much recently? scary. No wonder the Jap car sales are dropping.

Regards,

Demand for YEN due to many factors...some more powerful factors are

1) Ending the carry trade...means those that short the YEN n buy another currency which offers higher yield will have to close their positions, in other words mean buying back the YEN.

2) Since the RenMinBi (aka RMB), is not officially traded, the nearest proxy would be the YEN.

3) Not to mention the monetary easing taken by MAS on Sing dollars....

But the key to me is if, the ADs are willing to lower their profit margins to absorb the rise in YEN, then it wouldn't make any difference to the end buyers like us right?

just my views. [gossip]
