Hi! It's brand new.

Looking at the Malaysian Lowyat forum, this could be a common problem for the Bold.

Something to do with the oil control valve or something. Not all of them have this problem, only the unlucky ones.

Looks like I may be one of them :(

Hi, managed to fix the problem?

My car is still having the Jerk inbetween when the Engine is cold (only during very slow speed)...

After the Engine gets heated up, no issues.....

Done 2500km... going smooth...

The cost was about $97.

They are using OWS synthetic oil - 5W40.

Sorry to barge in, first of all I don own an Exora but was keen quite a while back. After reading most of the postings here, took it off my list as most of the time there is always some issues regarding this car. And even worst charges customers for their first 1k servicing when most AD here will provide it free. A friend owns a gen2 and besides design, the rides comes with certain issues just after 2 to 3 years. I do admire you guys having lots of patience just maintaining the car.

Probably u have not heard of the problems from other makes...just that they are not as lucky as others. I drives a Gen2 and only encountered minor issues in the 1st 3 motnh. Went back to AD and issues resolve and i have no more complain. Have been 4.5 yrs oredy and have no issues since then except for the normal wear and tear!

Once my engine died when doing a 3 pt turn at very slow speed in a petrol kiosk during reverse.

During 1K servicing, they checked ecu but found no error codes, so nothing was done.

I suspect when our steering is fully turned either to left or right and then when you try to reverse, engine will stutter.

Happenned once but not able to simulate again after trying for a few more times.

How's your fuel consumption?

Agreed. All makes have their own share of problems, including Euro cars as well.

All brands of cars have their problems. Strictly speaking, then you should also stay away from Volkswagon and Citroen(gearbox problems) and most Jap brands (infamous global recalls) and a lot of other continental car makes.

Not saying that Proton is great, but for the amount you pay, you get some little problems, you get it fixed and viola! You get a workhorse with cheap maintenance and parts easily available.

If you're following the forum, you could see many many positives been discussed here about the vehicle.

And ofcourse for a new Vehicle with a complete revamp in engine design, a bit of issues there and here is always acceptable.

I'm also not a Proton fan. But I do really appreciate the Space and the ride I've got for the price I've paid.

Those who are driving the Exora will know what I'm talking about...

The only issue all along which Exora had was it was under powered as they were using the Campro CPS for a huge vechicle.

And knowing this, people bought this for Family purpose and ofcourse not for racing.

I was driving the Exora CPS for past one and a half years and I didn't have any sort of complain on it....

Now Proton is giving more choices - for those who loves power, go for CFE and if you are just looking at a normal vehicle go for CPS.

What ever issues I've stated are considered minor (solved after reset of ECU or needs a bit of Tuning), which you may find in other brands also.

We are seeing Continental cars also doing recalls...

If Proton is sitting quietly without solving the issues or if there are lots of troubles... then it is a different story....

But, that's not the case here... and if things cannot be solved here, I have the choice to bring over to JB and lots of expertise are there (and Warranty covers also).

So... up to you.......

Ha... ha... that's the thing I always forget to check....

Soon going for a KL trip, will monitor.

Btw, you guys driving the Exora should be glad that you are using the Campro CPS engine...... Gen2 and Satria Neo owners only get the older Campro engine......

The CPS engine produces 125HP and its one of the most powerful 1.6L around already........ With tweaks it can hit 145HP easily (the R3 version of the Neo is 145HP. same engine).
