Thanks.

Really KNS, ask for S$10K and use our money to "play" with COE and yet we are being penalised when we want to bid our own!!!

If they are selling popular brands, I can understand. But blardy hell, Skoda in Singapore. What is Skoda?

Most AD just ask for booking fee of 2-5K.

Hmmm... pardon my ignorance, I really don't understand what you mean by "play" with COE. Every bidding of the coe requires a deposit of $10K. And why do popular brands have the right to take YOUR $10K and "play" coe? I don't think any brands should do that, not popular brands nor Skoda.

As for booking fee, I do admit most ADs such as Honda, Toyota, Hyundai,etc...that ask for $2k-$5k.

However, ther are also ADs such Mazda,Audi,BMW,....that ask for $10K deposit. In actual fact, we did offer to accept $3k deposit for our cars, but we realise from our customers, this is not really a crucial factor in purchaing the car. Should this be the obstacle that is affecting your decision to purchase this car, please let us know and we will look into it.

All in all, I guess different companies have different policies and I seek your understanding in this matter. Regards

Horrible.

I remember they quote my trade in car at 10k below market value 5 mths back. They say if I want to sell my car at the market price (from sg car mart, classified and C&C), better to sell it myself as they do not have their sole dealer agent. Without such kind of service to support the potential customer to get ride of their existing ride, how to bring in more sale #? I call up EuroAutomobile last week and they are still quoting the same market selling price which I am make known 5 mth ago.

I am happy to know that you have considered our car 5 months back. It is with regret that we cannot meet your expectations on your used car. However, market price from classifieds, sgcarmart,etc....are advertised prices that include full preparation of the used car including paintwork and repairs, possible discounts given and dealer margins.. Perhaps if the dealer had viewed your car and if it is in immaculate condition, he could have offered you a slightly better value.

As for EuroAutomobile, I cannot comment on pricing strategy. However, very high overtrades offset against a very high selling price are popular for certain makes. I believe you can get $5K more that what the EuroAutomobile offered you if you go over to the BMW showroom as they openly declare offering $15K above your car's market value if you buy a car from them.

Having a few dealers give us the chance to get competitive quotes from different dealers that might be aggressive in certain trade ins. That said, I can't guarantee that we offer the best price for your used car, therefore we do not enforce that you trade in your vehicle to us if you are able to get a better offer elsewhere. Regards.

Err, Mazda don't charge upfront 10k. They only make me pay 2k in advance.

To clarify what I mean "market price" is price after 3-5k deduction from the classifieds, sgcarmart pricing. I also call up C&C during that time and they offer that price too. Since I cant afford to sell my car off the line while waiting for the arrival of the new Skoda car, I have to wait until my car is really at paper value than I can consider to trade in for the new ride.

Neutral Newbie

Hi,

I have brought up this contractual agreement to management and they have agreed to look into it. Afterall, although they changed their name but they are still honouring the warranties of the cars sold last time including those that have free servicings. Are you considering exercising your buy back guarantee by upgrading? I will be most pleased to assist you. [rolleyes]

I don't have free servicing, so I don't benefit much from that. Thanks for your offer to assist for buy back. Buy back alone won't be attractive enough or build up my confident to consider upgrading.

I stand corrected for any changes that are made due to my comments. And thank you for engaging me. I did give Skoda new/present AD a chance and even spoke to your management. I feel that It is important that Skoda AD does something about the issues. Cars will always have problem, more or less, it is how the AD handles it and not conned about failures. And with internet, the issue is easily magnified.

Pardon me, I was really sore about Skoda and the AD wasn't much of a help, then. It was a multiple experience and an unforgetable car, the issues of all my other cars are found in 1 specific Skoda Octavia. I did and solve most issues on my own, without the AD, till my wife total the car.

As for me, that's my very last Skoda.

No problem. I understand. We look forward to reinstating your confidence with us in the near future. Best regards

Drove an Octy A4. Easy to maintain and loads to maintain...if you are not hands on...prepare to pay. Electronics of the car is wanting....fail on the dot.

As for the AD....said enough of them...gave up and went for another brand.

totally agree....

just spend one day at the stockist.....and see what sell whole day....all the ex ex expensive sensor.... [lipsrsealed] brake sensor 210 x2 = 440 + labour= 500 plus.... [lipsrsealed][sweatdrop]

Yup, at the end of the day for my skoda, one of the few surviving/original sensors were the ECU (I think was giving way) Thermostat, RFID key...ah....my goodness. The cost of replace quoted was S$5,000....must as well scrap the car.

Imagine driving a car with no speedometer/tachometer, working instruments on the dashboard...the only good thing that came out from it was when i was stopped for speeding, I showed the TP that I do not have a working dashboard, was following the car in front and I was using the GPS(for speed) as a guide. He said, "wah..so taroh" (bad)....oh one more thing, you might like to know that if that was LTA I would have gotten another fine and not for speeding...welcome to Skoda, so embarassing...

Juz returned from VCS. The Jetta 1.4 TSI is going at 81,300 after discount now...Still deciding between the Jetta and new Octavia. I guess I would sway towards the Jetta if the Octavia 1.4 TSI is anything above 75,000 with current COE.

any idea when octavia 1.4 tsi coming?

Last I heard was July, then August, now coming Sep still no news....

VW pretty boring interior, as a matter of fact the new Chevy Cruze has a better interior than VW Jetta. but this is my own personal view.
