Donut Supercharged April 22, 2009 Share April 22, 2009 in govt service, its not the retrenchment they do. so long as you do yr job and meet your KPIs, you will be safe and of course yr bosses must like you enough to let you stay. its not about profit or loss. i'm glad that i'm in govt service now..... so safe and well protected from the crisis. Money and budget is never a problem for us to use.

Yeobh 4th Gear April 22, 2009 Share April 22, 2009 (edited) In the not far future we will witness all "Bumi" ( local born citizens usually after the 2nd generation) will opt to work for Govt or Govt link companies and foreigners will be work very hard in the private sectors. The more enterprising ones will end up as boss of their own companies. Edited April 22, 2009 by Yeobh

Sony 1st Gear April 22, 2009 Share April 22, 2009 if the govt do a official broadcast that they are going into retrenchment mode, have you realised how much downstream effect it will have on the pte sector and the perception investors will have of singapore? I doubt the civil service will go on retrenchment mode officially but then, there's other measures of "right sizing", streamline of process and reducing admin overhead or to outsource.. such are means to actively reduce the burden of carrying too many golden rice bowl....
