Lake Country Green (or if you want to be more aggressive, LC Orange pad) would be my choice to remove minor swirls and water marks on a PC.

With a PC, you can use the Meguiar's Polishing Pad (W8006). Then follow with Finishing Pad (W9006). most importantly, keep the pads clean throughout. Those are extremely versatile and easy to buy, just go Autobacs.

If you plan to use a PC with a more abrasive pad and compound......you can use a calender to measure how long it takes to break down the polish : ) unless you use something like the Meguiars #105 that do not need breakdown time. And their 2009 version is recommended to be used with a PC (DA). Most of the more abrasive compounds in the market do not recommend PC.

I use megs polishing pad as well, but i feel it's in between an LC white and LC green. The green has more cut and can do a great 1 step with a product like menz 106ff. That said, i would rather take the megs' polishing pad over an LC white if i want some mild correction.

Have to agree abt the new megs 105 shifting the goal posts tho... it's the new standard.

Hi all, may I know wat pad is best use on a PC to remove swirls n minor watermarks?

Depends on many factors, the car clear coat and your combination of pad/polish as well as how bad is the swirls n watermarks...LC yellow, orange, green, white, Meguiar Light cutting and polishing pad all able to take out swirls.. IMO Meg polishing pad and LC white is the 2 that is able to have some cutting and able to do a decent finish. The rest is more aggressive and need another refining step..

For watermark got to see whether still surface defects or etch in paint. Because of our rain and shine(hot) weather, usually in SG cars watermark case will have some etching in paint unless the owner do frequent grooming properly..Some lengthy but good info to share about watermark..

the $17.70 pad is about 6.5 inch in diameter

so i only need to buy white pad for #501 n black pad for #105?

1 more question, as refer to Pad Aggressive level (Highest to lowest)

Yellow >Orange >Green>White >Black> Blue (is it correct?)

may i use green pad with those scratch and swirl remover stuff?

I personally love the pads from EDGE. The company has been acquired by 3M.

It is double sided and also work with an adapter. Advantage is that you don't have to worry about the pads being warped out of shape or centering is out.

And their 4" pad is very very good for tight area. You can reach areas previously not possible, and almost no risk.

And they have 5 variations for wool pad alone. Same ideas like 3M who even use wool for glazing (but I think that will leave hologram somehow).

Very interesting take on machine polishing with The Edge...

Are you using The Edge 2000 Wave 6 inch Foam DA Pads? Seems like AG is only left with the white foam pads..
