Ndika13 Neutral Newbie April 21, 2009 Share April 21, 2009 Driving is fun. It is not so much of what one drive is how one drive. But driving in SGP is stressfull too many "KS" drivers on the roads.
Carndablues Clutched April 21, 2009 Share April 21, 2009 Sh1t! This thread has reminded me of how long I have been driving! 17 years! And that's after I got my probationary!
Quirky_ster Clutched April 21, 2009 Share April 21, 2009 When you decide to buy your car based on logical $$$ sense.. then the pt A pt B car with those multi-gear ratio super smooth ultra quiet ride will quickly bore you after a while.... it's becoming a chore to drive the car.. you are made to "slave" yourself to transport yourself or loved ones from pt A to pt.B... it does the job but it's boring... For me, took a little silly path paying a little more for something that I can enjoy to drive.. after 20 yrs of driving.. still loving every minute of it.. be it cruising at 90, push hard at bends or fast driving NS HWY or climbing Cameron highlands or Malaysia B roads.. or the daily leisure daily work commuting.. sometimes the enjoyment of driving something better is priceless... glad I took off the $$$ logical a step further .. it continues to put on the smile every single day.. In facts, it's therapeutic at times..

Sunlight 1st Gear April 21, 2009 Share April 21, 2009 After 15 years of driving..... it is still fun.. from the days of driving a Datsun 100A till now... am glad I don't need so much arm power as before when it comes to driving. the Datsun120 drove it a few times when i was in aust many years ago. my friend brought it for $300. such a simple car
Boyboy 1st Gear April 21, 2009 Share April 21, 2009 i think it's not true to say DSG is FULLY AUTO because u can upshift or downshift gears any time u want.. is conventional autobox with tiptronic not fully auto? to me, DSG is fully auto with manual override
Boyboy 1st Gear April 21, 2009 Share April 21, 2009 what is defined as engaging? able to step on a clutch or move the stick is engaging? is inserting a key into the ignition slot engaging? why have start button? why keyless entry? it's disengaging coz one need not poke at a car to make it do something.. so is stepping on a clutch engaging or some people wanted assurance that they are "driving a real car" coz they have participation in ensuring which gear the car is in without the aid of computer. guess it's a whole new era from the days of manual vs auto having to coordinate the clutch, half clutch and shift the stick is engaging - to me. you may view it as a hassle, equally valid. inserting the key into the ignition IS more engaging to me. it feels better though cheaper at the same time. but i won't mind if i had keyless start. taking the argument further, a car that drives itself, is it any less engaging than normal car in which human drives it? why do people say certain types of car more 'engaging', more 'fun'? i guess different people will have different needs and wants as to what their car does. for convenience, ease, pickup, comfort, DSG does win
