Application9999 Clutched April 13, 2009 Share April 13, 2009 (edited) bro. get a friend with car to help. If lucky...there may be stranger that are willing to help too......Connect 2 cables. one to the + terminal and one to the - terminal of the car battery. Leave it connected for 3 min to 5 mins and then start your engine..You can get those jump start cable at most petrol station outley. Once enginer started...it should be ok. Go to the battery shop to check your battery condition and if no good....change it...else drive around for sometime and it should be charged up.....hope this help. Fcw75 Hypersonic April 13, 2009 Share April 13, 2009 Never connect the black cable directly to the -ve of the battery! Connect it to a metal part at the engine block. some car manual will show you where to connect.

Fcw75 Hypersonic April 13, 2009 Share April 13, 2009 Yes, I have a jumpstart kit similar to yours. But mine is red colour and comes without the air compressor. U read the car or kit manual carefully, it will tell you not to connect the black clamp directly to th -ve of the battery.
Starengine Neutral Newbie April 13, 2009 Author Share April 13, 2009 after waiting a few minutes, need to remove clamps before trying to start vehicle? or leave the clamps there for how long?
Starengine Neutral Newbie April 13, 2009 Author Share April 13, 2009 yeah manual says connect to "non-moving metal part of the engine", where is this metal? Fcw75 Hypersonic April 13, 2009 Share April 13, 2009 Then we connect the black jumper cable to the negative terminal on the good battery. Next, find a heavy bracket or other metal part of the engine block on the other car and connect the black cable to it. This will probably cause a spark but if there is a spark it isn't close to the battery so there is no danger of an explosion. Taken from other site. Any metal part of the engine block. Different car is different. You have to take a look at your car engine block. After the clamping is done (red followed by black), turn your iginition to ON (when all the symbol lights up) but dun start the engine. Wait for a min or two. Then after that crank your engine, it should start if it's just battery flat. Once started, you can remove the black clamp followed by the red clamp. Yeobh 4th Gear April 14, 2009 Share April 14, 2009 (edited) Unlucky, no if you practice preventive maitenance, such happening hardly happen. If you need to buy a jumper set, buy a set that has polarity and surge protections. If you want to use the pre-computerised way of jump starting using jump cables try getting one with surge protector. Using standard jump cables can sometimes ( especially the battery has internal short or extremely low charge) lead to serious frying of computerised ciruit boards. It's a very costly affair. As for connecting the either the external clamps - always start with the positive ( red ) to the battery terminal and follow by the negative/ground (black) to either the car chassis or battery negative terminal ( the idea of connecting the negative to chassis to prevent arcing or sparks from jumping near the battery. In the event of any spark that may have accidently jump into the battery, an explosion can happen).
