Spring stiffener

Does its work and claim to have a comfortable ride, better handling for original shocks?

the answer is NO.

rubbish.

but for some, we have to use it.

in my scenario, have to use it , otherwise when ferrying, the rear will rub against the fender due to bigger and thicker tire.

the best mod, is to stay stock.

no fret nor headache.

Are you on coilover? Or change to rims with lesser offset? If budget constraint, change a set of uprated springs and shocks.

These spring stiffener are bs. Spring and shocks comes in a set. Stiffen the spring must get uprated shocks as well if not shocks will leak very fast. Traditional suspension only works in one way. Stiff setup is good for turns and bends but terrible on straight bumpy roads. Soft setup is good for straight bumpy roads but terrible at turns. You can meet them halfway but will not be fantastic on both situation.

nope, just that i go for bigger tyre.

stock only allows 175/50/15 but i tried 195/45/15.

and recently 185/55/15.

yeah, spring stiffener are BS..  [:p]

Many years ago when my dad bought me those Tamiya offroad RC battery operated cars it came with snap-on spring stiffeners for the front and rear suspension.

For RC cars there's no option of adjustable dampers like real cars. Like for offroad conditions I usually dun put any spring stiffeners. For tarmac conditions I will put one each in the rear. Stiffen too much it will lose traction. So I trial and error to find a balance.

For some cars where the suspension setting are really soft and when they install these rings they claimed that it does wonders. I can understand but I wouldn't recommend installing them as it's a snap on application, plus it utilise a cable tie to make it stay in position(if you suan smrt for using cable ties and you are doing the same...good luck). I also won't call it an alternative to adjustable dampers as the adjustable dampers would still be safer to install and its advantages are the multiple adjustable settings compared to the rings' one setting.

I wouldnt touch factory springs, first off in most cars they are linear to provide a more comfortable ride, compared to progressive springs in track cars. The second part depends on your shocks which are either oil based or gas based. Linear springs are normally paired with oil based shocks once again to provide a smoother ride. Gas based shocks work better with progressive springs on track cars. Mixing and matching will not give good results, could cause under steering along with impact breaking distance in ABS cars that have been tuned.
