Was doing my routine servicing when the SA was trying to promote the rust proofing package. Wondering shld I get it done of just leave it as it is?

My old ride came with Tuff coat, some of the coating were overspray to the car body [shakehead]

all or rather most modern car are fully galvanised internally and externally in the factory .

Unless you intend to keep it beyond 10 years or more , otherwise....

If it is a freebie, then there is no disadvantage in rustproofing the car. No matter what, at worst it will reduce road noise to an extent. But if you have to pay for it, then it is not necessary to rustproof the car.

Not sure if keeping for more than 10 years or more for now, but guess if I decide to b4 the 10th year I can do it.

Not free, was quote like $200 plus with grooming package.

Save the money for other useful stuff. Yes, sometimes they oversprayed the stuff to the car body. Also, the undercarriage will be very ugly and messy. If you have the chance to see it when your car is being hoisted up, you will know what I mean.

more useful in countries with 4 seasons where they use lots of salt on the roads to melt the ice. saltwater speeds up rusting and although we are surrounded by saltwater too, the effect of a bit of salt in the air is minor compared to the road salt that goes directly onto your undercarriage.

YES IT IS TRUE

sometimes they need to drill holes to reach areas they claim needed to rust proof

after a few weeks or even are a month or two you still see black stuff leaking out

once they touch the carpet and if you dont clean it up early too bad

have you see a leopard before

Neutral Newbie

My 6 month old ride got rusty at the exhaust pipe.

Went back to my AD for warranty claim & they merely respray it..

Do you think this will help to stop the rust? Any advice?
