The story is above the pictures. The last picture at the bottom of the entry is the grotesque one.

 

In short, a serial cat killer is on the loose in Choa Chu Kang. The person or persons have killed several cats so far and at times in broad daylight.

 

The way in which he/she/they carries out his/her/their sick deeds are getting increasingly brutal. What started as cruel slashes to stomachs have now become total dismemberment and disembowelment.

I believe that "patrolling" the area is not a solution. What's needed is not a preventive measure, but the apprehension of the murderer(s). Just putting it out there - perhaps a drive can be put together to hire professionals to catch this or these sick SOBs. I would gladly sink a good sum towards a strong effort.

This fellow deserves to be thrashed to within an inch of his life. I used to have 3 very lovely cats in Australia and they are one of the most intelligent and loving creatures around. I will personally deliver a thrashing to the prep of this crime if I ever had the opportunity to catch him in the act.

I'm located at CCK and dont even know these killings has been happening in my area! This is just bad...if it is a child, i wonder how he/she will grow up to be....i will keep my eyes peeled although my area do not have cats...

Sadly, the laws do not place much emphasis on animal abusers. The govt thinks about the $ sign, not animal welfare. Think the ancient HDB ruling on cat ownership in flats.

 

Remember the Bedok guy who was caught redhanded by some volunteers? He didn't go to jail. I think it was IMH. And he was released subsequently very quickly. Can't remember if he committed such heinous crimes after that but I don't have high hopes.

 

Only way would prob be to patrol more regularly, esp at night since this is the time the cats will be active and the chance of the aXse hole kanna spotted would be lower since most of us are sleeping. Human friendly cats usually become the victims because they trust humans too much. So for cat feeders and general animal lovers, sometimes it's good not to sayang the community cats too much lest they become too used to human contact and fall victim to animal abusers.

 

I saw the ginger kitten in one of the links. She reminded me so much of my youngest when she too was a fluffy, cute but not-too-human-friendly kitten all alone, abandoned by humans, at a Simei void deck. I hope she did not suffer long and death was quick and swift.
