Anyone knows any good places where I can buy office chairs with webbed butt and back rests? Can't stand those cushion or leather ones anymore, gets too hot after sitting for a while.

Something like Herman Miller Aerons or Haworths, but not that kind of pricing obviously. Hope not to spend more than $500.

The Aeron costs about 2k at Xtra.

Thank you!

I using the Ikea one with high webbed back rest and lumbar support. Find it very good so far considering I have back problem. Seat is still leather though.

I am actually using the Ikea one with webbed backrest. The back is ok but the butt rest cannot make it. Cushion too thin, sit too long my butt pain.

I did come across on Ebay before, someone was hawking the pre-owned Aeron B for USD500 plus shipping for USD200. Totally was slightly over SGD1k but I couldn't bear to spend that kind of money. Hence continuing my hunt for 1.

I have an Aeron chair.

Yes, the initial outlay may be heavy, but it pays for itself through the years. I bought mine in 2003, and honestly, it still feels brand new, just like the first day I bought it. Mechanically, it hasn't aged at all. And don't think I seldom use it. I work at home, and I sit on it on an average of 12-14 hours a day. I weigh 90kg.

I went with my friend to buy an Ikea office chair last year. It was a $500+ one. He's telling me it's falling apart now. The wheels don't roll smoothly, it feels wobbly, the springs have lost their tensile strength...etc. It's only been less than a year. Which is why I bought my Aeron chair in the first place. I tried many sub $1000 chairs, and they fall apart within a year (due to my heavy usage and also heavy weight). But more importantly, I can work in comfort for much longer periods without getting a backache.

These days, there are many more modern chairs in that category. Aeron chairs used to be the king, but there are many more choices now. Even the lower end HM Mirra or Celle chairs are very comfortable. Other brands include Humanscale, Steelcase, Turnstone...etc.

Thanks for the suggestions guys

FCW75, no I am not using the Markus, mine is a cheaper variation.

I have been to vhive but nothing there caught my eye. Maybe I'll stop by Geylang and check it out. ;)

I feel like bringing the Aeron B back from office!

Neutral Newbie

I recently bought mine from a furniture shop just beside Courts AMK, and behind the coffee shop. Less than $300. I like the support and coolness. You can try that place...I've bought most of my basic household stuff like mattress and kiddos' bed from them. Do bargain abit though.

Turbocharged

Spend more on the real thing and it'll last you a long time.

Herman Miller came out with the new Embody chair (launched recently by Xtra).

You can try alternative brands such as Schiavello, Wilkhahn etc.

Supercharged

this kind of item, always get the best. if the best costs u $2k, get it coz it will bring u a long way into the future without nasty backaches.....

if the chair can last u 5 years, its only $400 per year. and it saves u the backaches and $$ u pay for massages or chiro treatments.

u get cheaper ones, it wont last long... every year, u need to change.... very soon, u will spend over $2k..... silly, right?
