No_worries 6th Gear March 27, 2009 Share March 27, 2009 I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent and this problem has been going on for the last 6 months. The door actuators (4 doors) keep failing and I have replaced all 4 door actuators but still the problem of not being able to lock the doors comes back after 3 months into the replacement. The latest is when you unlock the driver's door from the outside, the 3 doors will not unlock and you have to manually unlock each of them by going into the driver's cabin. I went to another workshop and they said the problem is NOT the actuators but the 'control box' located somewhere underneath the dashboard and it will cost $500 to replace! So I would like to ask bros opinion here, what is the actual problem with my doors? ↡ Advertisement
Aurora 1st Gear March 27, 2009 Share March 27, 2009 Imho, I believed that if u install a basic alarm (which will definitely cost less than $500) and bypass the so-called "control box"... it should be able to work with ur new actuators...... I have a feeling that the workshop is trying to you.....

The sad thing is, I replaced the alarm system less than a year ago. Damn... makes me wonder which is faulty, the actuator or the alarm system. Sigh... Xfyin Neutral Newbie March 27, 2009 Share March 27, 2009 I also have this Accent 2005. just replaced one of my rear passenger door actuator. it failed to unlock the door and forced everybody to climb in from the other side. if it costs $500, better you consider to replace the whole alarm system. ↡ Advertisement
