hi All,

Just to share tat today when inspection at vicom kaki bukit & fail.

Reason is tat Exhaust hv been tempered.

I told them tat mine is the original except tat the tip is being replace due to rusty & broken .

The inspector say tat we r not suppose to cut or weld at the muffler...now they want me to replace the whole muffler ?? [confused]

Is tat right, just bcoz of the tip we need to replace the whole muffler?

Most probably the alignment of headlight out, either pointing too high, too low, or to one side....

Yup, can only have screw on. If like in your case, you are suppose to replace the whole thing. Some get thru, some don't...just luck lah.

I kana the welded on exhaust tip issue when I went for my 5th yr inspection. The inspector said cannot pass bcos of the welded exhaust tip, I told him after accident while reversing, I changed to the new exhaust tip and during my 3rd yr inspection, my ride was passed without any issues with the welded tip, why the sudden double standard? He said due to the high rate of accidents lately, mata said as long exhaust tip changed consider u mod exhuast system...I told him it's crap, how can you assume? but I talked to him nicely lah...in the end..got my cert. and said thank you to him.....

Hi bros and sis,

A newbie car owner here. Just went for my first car inspection at Viccom last weekend and to my horror, my ride failed the test.

for info, the wheel alignment and the headlights fail. I have no idea how it is possible as i did not do any mods to the car, especially not to the headlights!

any bros and sis got any ideas how this is possible? will normal day to day driving cause the alignment and headlights to fail?

also, whats the market rate nowadays to re-align the wheels? I was quoted $100.. fair?

thanks very much

The bad thing is that you have to pay for the inspection. And it is getting worst for I think you gotta pay again for the next inspection. I hate this inspection thingy for I dunno why these people are reaping us of our money for relatively new cars being sent for inspection. Singapore cars so new really need inspection meh..........it is just wasting our "Yuan Huang Qian". Our sweat and blood.

Hi.

I had my first inspection in June 2008.

Does this mean my next Inspection should be June 2010?

No need to worry this coming June 2009?

Thanks.
