Siewss 1st Gear March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 Are those closer to the border with Thailand? If so will fit my next trip just nice Mine is just 6 months old and the bonnet is the only one that sparkle, the rest of the car is like.......... . That's why i stop in JB to have my car washed on a ramp to remove all the mud, etc.... I think i was pissing the car wash car guys off as i was next to the car pointing here and there. But they were quite professional as in they wet the car and let it soak before rinse off and then shampoo and wash off. Not like our petrol station types I agree that between me and my family versus animals they would surely lose, i had a couple of colleagues that went to the states was driving at night to Yellow Stone when they swerve to avoid a deer, car ended upside down and one of them was in the hospital for 2 months. Could not turn his head for close to 6 months after that. From Pedu Lake Resort, you can glance across the lake towards the Thai border. For Bukit Merah, I suppose you can do a google search. I certainly wasn't aware JB have such thorough carwash, ramp, soak and all. I would have done the same if I have known earlier, and save myself the tedious effort of scrubbing, washing and cleansing. I did pass by quite a lot of snow-wash cum car servicing joints at Kuantan, but wasn't about to venture in as there were hardly any patrons, besides having another 350km to cover. If the JB wash doesn't take more than 20 minutes, I'd certainly stop by the next round on the way back from Route 3. Are they mostly congregated in Taman Sentosa? Some people go to large extent to avoid potholes too. I've the blood of 1 magpie, 1 sparrow and 1 chicken on my hands, because I chose not to avoid them. ↡ Advertisement
Mobilio Neutral Newbie March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 (edited) It shows that your Subaru Forester is too fast for the GTR to catch up. your Subie is It reminds my trip up north last year covering 11 states in 8 days. FXT was a great car to drive and reliable enough to travel everywhere on his own. However, I'd got 3 summons after the trip Edited March 22, 2009 by Mobilio

The one that i used is very near the Ah Koong Fish Ball noddles, i went there cause i saw they have a ramp, actually looks quite run down. My usual one is at the start of Jalan Dato Suolaiman or rather the road to Holiday Plaza That one even uses different kind of cloth for different cleaning and use only once. Should not take more than 30 minutes. Wah bro seems that lots of birds are attracted to your car

Voodooman Supersonic March 22, 2009 Share March 22, 2009 Really nice FXT you have there, the removal of the logo, the all black rims, etc. give it a very clean and fierce look. Just wondering if it always rains that much in Lake Kenyir or it is due to the monsoon, which should be coming to an end by mid Mar 2009. Any mozzie problem, that is the one thing between me and Lake Kenyir, kid got sensitive skins?

Mozzie is a problem so better go out with mozzie spray or mozzie patches on the kids, even the adults too. We went to the soak waterfall and saw many mozzie larvae breeding in the water and oh yes look out for the leeches too Edited March 23, 2009 by Buzz

The chalets has been tastefully done up 2 years back - 4 yrs back I paid a measly MYR150 for decrepit lodging. Today it's about double, but worth the extra Ringgit. Gone are the mildew, weeds and creepy crawlies.

Buzz Neutral Newbie March 24, 2009 Author Share March 24, 2009 bro, can the Duplex unit fit in 2 adults + 4 kids What you get is a King size upstairs and a sofa bed downstairs. I would say for you possible, 3 younger ones upstairs with you and your wife and Jose (did i remember correctly?) can sleep downstairs but you can also asj for another bed there is more than enough space downstairs to add another bed. I usually stay in the deluxe room @ Century Pines which cost around RM198 (nett) with 2 breakfast. The Duplex usually goes for RM368 (nett). For the duplex unit, maximum occupancy is 2 adults and 2 children (inclusive of 3 breakfast). Extra bed @ RM50.00 with breakfast. Rates are for 3 people. Extra adults RM50.00. The room caters for a maximum of 3 adults, and a maximum of 2 children but cannot exceed 4 guests in total. The management is not very particular with the guest count so it should be fine for 2 adults and 4 children to bunk in. Having said that, wouldn't it be more comfortable and value for your monies to just book 2 deluxe room? 4 instead of 3 breakfast and you get more privacy as well. Some will prefer for all to be under one "roof", so you got to decide on that. Edited March 24, 2009 by Voodooman
Dwoon 1st Gear March 24, 2009 Share March 24, 2009 Yes, that was what I did some 4 years back. We had 2 adjoining deluxe rooms (main hotel block i.e above the reception). Therefore, comes with breakfast for 4 pax. Need privacy, just close the door separating the 2 rooms. Think it was RM220/room back then. It's cosy, the rooms are huge, and the home-cooked meals, whose portions are huge, are simply the best that Cameron can dish out. You can ask for steamboat, and on a cold rainy night, nothing comes close. They can bake scones to be spread with fresh strawberry jam, which you can wash down with freshly brew Cameron tea. I guess you can even consider driving down to Ipoh for Ayam Tauge. Only catch is: it's always fully booked during school holidays, so you gotta time yourself to book 2 months in advance the moment you can. If you're a civil servant, you're in luck cos you get to book 3 months in advance.

Maverickchua Neutral Newbie March 26, 2009 Share March 26, 2009 Hi Buzz from Tasik Kenyir to Gua Musang, a portion of the road needs to divert into plantation. Did you expeience that? I went in Feb and I was using the same route. I reached Tasik Kenyir resort on Friday and then left the place on Sunday to CHL. While driving of the 1st portion of the road was near perfect and scenic, the 2nd part of it, my gps divert me into a plantation road. I thought I was driving the wrong direction but after about 10km drive (~ 1 hour), I was out of the "wood". I just want to confirm whether u went thru the same route? Buzz Neutral Newbie March 27, 2009 Author Share March 27, 2009 I think you are referring to the above area. As you can see from my tracks i did not take the detour, the road is open. Maybe that's why the road is full of pot holes

Maybe that's why the road is full of pot holes Hi Buzz, Can you roughly tell me how long is the journey in terms of distance and time taken to reach Cameron Highlands from Lake Kenyir? I am considering taking this route from Terrengnu to Ipoh, then down to KL. I read somewhere it takes around 7 to 8 hours on rugged terrains. Is it paved throughout? ↡ Advertisement
