just went to see nissan Tenna with my fren... I notice that Tenna comes with a push button to start the engine (a higher level compare to keyless start)

Quite interesting..

I am wondering>> is it possible to add in this "push button" function in my car , nissan latio hehe

anyone got any idea on where to get this done??

yes and no...original key switch had some step while you turn your key...a click will switch on the AC and one more click turn on the water pump and etc...so if u add in a on/off switch....it will not work that way....

if you have an immobiliser function in your car, you will still have to insert the key

you will also need to start the electrical devices in your car by turning the key once ?

i drove a Lexus GS300 b4.

totally keyless, the push button starts up everything and the steering column comes back down.

open door also no need to take out key !

that is cool !! too bad i not elitist....

No need lexus mar... any car with engine that starts with the push button can do that... I heard is push once to go to "acc", push and hold to start engine..

The point is that for cars like latio, sylphy (and ex?), they aldy have the keyless mechanism there, so they just need to change it into a button.

Whereas for me, i have immobiliser and need to twist physical key, so not sure whether the Pivot thing works or not in this case..

I was rather disappointed that the local Forte did not come with it... (it was in the Korean brochure)

If you've the immobilser and you don't have factory keyless entry, then you can add an Engine Start button. The way it works will be like S2000 or the Integra/Civic Type R's - push in the key, turn but not crank, and use the push start button to crank the engine.

Siao, pay money and have to do extra work

insert key , then go to push the button,,, when one can simply twist the key to start

anyway its retro, cars in the sixties have that,

I remember in the 60s, my dad's mini have that, & he converted to key start as more convenient

This is how it work for my Toyota push/start button.

Without stepping on the brake:

1st push, you can switch on electrical item like ICE.

2nd push, the meter display/warning light is switch ON (like you turn the normal key 1 level), power window can be activate etc..

3rd push, all switch Off.

When step on the brake,

One push and the engine start (auto gear had to be in P or N)

won't that be a bo liao feature?

I think most people install it for comestic purposes... The "feel good" factor... haha

Personally, I rather install an "engine cut" switch instead... To cut the engine but keep electricity flowing around the car...
