Ahyoo2002 2nd Gear March 15, 2009 Share March 15, 2009 (edited) Hi all, I went to Malaysia on 14th Mar (Sat) about 10am. I initially intend to go in through Causeway but this is what I see from the onemoting website: Traffic_Jam.bmp I am wonder it must take very long since the trafiic jam starts all the way from JB to Singapore. Hence I decide to pay more by using Tuas. Almost no car at Tuas but I paid much more . I am wonder is the jam really starts all the way from JB new CIQ to Singapore CIQ? Anyone caught in the jam and how long it take to clear? Edited March 15, 2009 by Ahyoo2002 ↡ Advertisement
Ghostami 2nd Gear March 15, 2009 Share March 15, 2009 I went into JB yesterday also but was at 12pm. The jamm started when I exit Singapore custom but I was in Jb by around 1pm. I still find it ok as there was no jamm when I was at Singapore custom entrance.

That is fast

Tireburner 3rd Gear March 16, 2009 Share March 16, 2009 IMO, the jam for vehicles returning from JB to Singapore side is due to the bottleneck caused by vehicles exiting customs inspection. How could the flow be smooth when so many vehicles try leaving at the same time with only 1 exit? And nowadays the immigration officer always look at your face and read out your name which they expect you to respond to acknowledge you are the person he/she is mentioning. I got my toddler along and when this officer asks, it is as though my toddler at the baby seat behind will respond by raising her hand and say, "Yes, that's me". Tireburner 3rd Gear March 16, 2009 Share March 16, 2009 If you wanna go to JB on Saturday, do so before 9am as traffic is still relatively light. Thereafter, traffic will be heavy day trippers will start making the trip and the many M'sians who work on half day Sat start going home from noon. The jam on S'pore side will be heavy till 9 or 10pm. It's hellish. I would never drive in after 9am. But these days, the jam seem to be getting from bad to worse. I thought with the opening of old checkpoint, this would help to alleviate the jam but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Ryanyusoff 2nd Gear March 16, 2009 Share March 16, 2009 i went in on sun around 11am.same case bro..jam starts as soon u exit from SG customs.but traffic was slowly moving and not a standstill. Before SG customs,no jam! Towards JB,the bottleneck is the partly because of their new CIQ.only two lanes lead up to the customs where you are sharing with the buses and vans too. Also, can not go in too early or else many factory buses too. I believe it is due to school holiday.

Hiphiphoray 6th Gear March 16, 2009 Share March 16, 2009 This traffic jam is normal especially for this whole week. Cos of the 1 week school holiday break. You can expect traffic jam even on weekday day-hours. Once the school term starts, the jam will die off and traffic back to normal condition. It has been like this for the past few years liao.
