Atonchia Supersonic March 15, 2009 Share March 15, 2009 Could be either sensor problem or mechanical problem. For mechanical problem, there is a bypass or manual overide key. The operator hold the key, open the cover, release the mechanism and open the barrier manually. 1) We can call the operator, if I'm not wrong it's Wilson parking. 2) We can call the management. 3) call SCDF if there is an emergency, cannot all get trapped and stay there right? Then SCDF may fine the management and operator. ↡ Advertisement

Atonchia Supersonic March 15, 2009 Share March 15, 2009 That thing is easy to lift and remove even.... light.... once i saw a malay kid cycling and he bumped his shoulder on the barrier when i came down the whole thing dropped off Not those barriers that use the cast iron pole type (thick as flagpole). The barrier system that use the rectangular cross-section aluminum barrier has a in-built safety feature (like lift) that re-opens when it hit something(lightly). The lower edge usually has a rubberised finish to prevent scratching the cars.

Fit44 Clutched April 19, 2009 Share April 19, 2009 when u drive in India, u horn all the time! But in S'pore, seldom got chance to horn. Thats why must find every opportunity to test ur horn!!!
Icekitten Clutched April 20, 2009 Share April 20, 2009 isn't it obvious that the cars behind the queue horned because they had thought that some car had blocked the exit, not knowing its the barrier was mal-functioning ? Nah... That's not an excuse for horning. Who would want to delay leaving the carpark? Be it a barrier malfunction or the driver at the gantry had forgotten to top up his cashcard, result is still the same. U are LL stuck there until the line gets moving again. Even if it's a driver forgotten to top up cashcard, there's nowhere to siam, still gotta wait for him to rush to top-up his cashcard and come back before he can move off. I've ever felt that way before, stuck in a carpark exit queue for several minutes, then the driver behind horns. Like horning can make the queue move.... Horning is more like a way for them to express their beh song...not to solve the problem.
