Meadelx200 1st Gear March 11, 2009 Share March 11, 2009 Was looking around for a weekend stay with my kids this Saturday and realised that Rasa Sentosa has a good package for about S$209 ++. Called up reservation and told them I got 2 adults & 2 kids (7 & 12). The hotel told me since one of my kid is 12 and is considered an adult then I got to take 2 rooms. I told them my kids have to sleep with us but she still insist I got to book 2 rooms. I said thank you & hanged up. I don't understand the logic. Why are they so inflexible ? On one hand they need the revenue during this downtime hence the promotion, on the other hand they have so many terms & conditions to discourage would be local guests. Probably will just check in Marina Mandarin for S$250 nett (w/o bf) and still can walk to Suntec for the Pc show. ↡ Advertisement

Not like as if they are going to check.

Add a couple of folding beds and you just need to pay for these extras. You should have spoken to the manager. Maybe times are so bad they are forcing this down your throat. Tjkbeluga 5th Gear March 12, 2009 Share March 12, 2009 BTW, I heard that it's no longer possible to walk to sentosa via the bridge nowadays... Can only drive in. My boss's friends who had some contract jobs there force to ferry their bangla workers everyday as they do not allow them to walk in... Wonder how true... Rickster 5th Gear March 12, 2009 Share March 12, 2009 If thats the case, they could have offered you a 3-adult room rate. That officer who spoke to u either must be a newbie or juz had a bad day.

Meadelx200 1st Gear March 12, 2009 Author Share March 12, 2009 If thats the case, they could have offered you a 3-adult room rate. That officer who spoke to u either must be a newbie or juz had a bad day. I called St Regis as well because they also have so call weekend rate @ S$460 (the room is huge with ****** amentities). Again they asked about no of guest and I replied the same ; 2 Adult & 2 child (7 & 12). They offered me 2 rooms at the same floor because 12 years old is considered an adult but never suggest taking an extra bed instead. I asked them if they will check if i reported incorrect age but they still insisted 2 rooms because of 'Fire Safety Regulation'. I have only spoken to the available guest relation officer as I believed a good hotel will can enpower their staff to take the necessary decision; in this case I considered minor. Stary Supercharged March 12, 2009 Share March 12, 2009 I don't understand why you guys need to give so much information. Just tell the damn hotel that you need one room and that's it.
Lightbringer 6th Gear March 12, 2009 Share March 12, 2009 When I was younger, I would book a room in the major hotels in Singapore for a bash with my friends - and end up having like over 10plus people in the room sleeping in every conceivable space. This was an almost monthly affair, and not ONCE did anybody try to check on the number of occupants, and totally turned a blind eye to us as long as we didn't make too much noise - and this includes the usual 5-star hotels here too. It's just like the law criminalizing oral and anal sex - nobody really cares unless you're actually dumb enough to tell the authorities you're engaging in such sexual acts. Either that or you're unlucky enough for somebody or some org to fix you up for good. I seriously can't believe you're married with 2 kids, and are still naive enough to "I asked them if they will check if i reported incorrect age but they still insisted 2 rooms because of 'Fire Safety Regulation'." Seriously, what did you expect them to say????? Evolution clearly failed its work in this case. ↡ Advertisement
