Yes. But not for crap like that. If there is a war, any government will want to take possession of private property to fight the war.

what goes around, comes around.

remember last time China was been f**ked by these western powers? Opium War and how they bully the chinese emperors and chinese ppl for a long time?

these bloody british, french, americans envoys just come to china and forced the govt to give in to this and that. the WORST is that they used military powers to force the emperors to give in!!!

how did Hong Kong land up in British rule? remember????

what goes around, comes around.

if this info in the blog is true, i'm feel happy for china.

now china is using $$ to bully US. at least they got some heart, instead of declaring war just like wat western powers used to do last time.

those bloody americans only got themselves to blame for the mess they are in.

why would US ever mortgage their power for eminent domain? ignoring questions of constitutionality for the moment, the US has no problem paying back its debts to China, because the debt is denominated in USD. guess who prints the USD?

essentially, and unfortunately, it means the US actually has China by its balls (what is new?). China cannot call on those USD denominated debts because when the US is desperate, they will just print USD and return it to China, fulfilling their debt obligations. the USD will be banana money, US economy will die but China (as well as the rest of the world) will be left holding tons of worthless USD. mutually assured destruction.

at the end of the day, the US is too big to fail. this is the irony of the world, where spendthrifts can spend freely and in times of economic trouble ask the thrifty for help or they will drag the thrifty down.

IMHO...this rumor might be true...As if China stop but US treasury.....US $$ might become worthless overnight...and trade might deal in Eur....and the US might screw big time...So if they "mortgage" their asset, at least got chance for a rebound...For China, if you don't give any assurance, why I want to buy US $$...?
