asking on behalf of a good friend. not me ar!

 

the divorce is gonna to be a very straightforward one. no court case to fight over assets or whatever. no children in the family.

 

any one can recommend a cheap lawyer, just to do the paperwork?

 

what's the normal rate for a straight forward divorce case?

The contact is in your PM box. There is really no "normal rate", the range is really quite wide if you (or rather your friend) check around. If you're between 2k to 4k still not that bad. Anything above 4k (for your friend's undisputed case) is...

 

If you are able to locate a good lawyer, some even allow instalment if the client is tight finally. But this is not a standard practice. :)

LAB is not applicable to all cases.

that day i read, to qualify for legal aid, must only earn less than $10k a year! this means legal aid only for the destitute. the average guy don't qualify!

Fyi,

 

The services of the Legal Aid Bureau are for poor Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents who are in Singapore and come within the ambit of the scheme and meet the requirements of financial Means Test.

 

Briefly, to qualify for legal aid,

 

(a) you have to be a Singapore Citizen or a Singapore Permanent Resident and is present in Singapore;

 

(b) you have to satisfy the
