I was using Jabra handsfree set until i lost it

 

i don think i will go back for the same type of bluetooth handsfree

 

 

is there any handsfree set that uses the car's audio system as a speaker

 

(maybe the handsfree set can transmit FM frequency to the car's radio)

Yes .... there are a few kind which is integrated with the car audio system.

 

Just make sure that ...

 

- You can continue to talk when you are reversing your car if the car audio system comes with reverse camera

 

When you stepped out of the car .... you can't be on BT anymore

You can try parrot and see if they have anything that can be integrated with your HU. I had that in my previous car...but I find it lack of privacy...cos everyone in the car can hear the conversation.

Wanna check:

 

1) does the intergreted system uses the car's cigerate lighter for power?

 

2) how does the integreted system interface with the phone? is it thru bluetooth?

 

3) is the microphone in the intergreted system clear for the other party or does it sound far away?

1) Nope..since it's integrated via your audio system, it just draw power from whatever 12V rail is available near the HU

 

2) Yup..thru BT

 

3) My personal experience: My friend's Merc E230 comes with this system..and the mike is placed at the top right hand corner of the front windscreen..but he hates to use the system because the other party(say, me) can barely hear him talk..

Hi,

 

I have had these systems on different cars and they work well. Especially if you remember to turn on the Bluetooth radio on your phone, and it pairs up automatically the moment you turn on the ignition. The models with a separate mike have better pickup, and make sure you check that the model you buy is able to work with your Head Unit's mute functions to auto-mute when you make/receive calls.

 

Real downside is when you need to have a private conversation when other folks are in the car...I suppose you can always hang up!

I am now using the Sony Ericsson HCB700 on one of my cars - don't know if they sell it any more. It's great as it shows caller ID on the LCD screen, and even allows you to browse and dial your phonebook if your phone supports that bluetooth profile.

 

You could also settle for something like the Parrot MK6000 if you just need a convenient way to pick up your calls.

 

 

By the way I've used the other kind - an all in one unit from Jabra that clips on to your windscreen or visor. My advice is to get the installed set, as the pick-up and noise levels are significantly better.

Do consider dat there will not be privacy if u r on speakers. If u have pax on board den u can't talk "freely" without ppl "listening" in.
