I am taking sulphasalazine for my AS, this med is actually used for IBS, but according to my doc its used as a disease modification drug for my case to control AS.

So far my AS has been very well controlled, until recently where i am frequently experiencing soreness in my neck. But i think it is likely due to the amount of stress that i am facing.

I have a bit of fatty liver as well, sometimes the reading is ok, sometimes the reading will go up, depends on my diet for that 3-4 mths between visits to the doc.

I have skin problem too, my face has this redness that flares up on and off like a cycle, it is coupled with large amount of skin flaking off. King of like having dandruff on my face. [:(]

I guess people who suffers from autoimmune problems have some what similar issues. [:/]

We have similar problems. Ask ur specialist to refer u to the skin doc for ur redness. Its the same for me as well. Using the steriod cream, 80% eliminates the redness. To completely remove the redness, need laser treatment = $$$. Me poor man so stick to daily application of steriod cream.

^_^ I am given steriod cream already, but I rarely use it unless its really bad. Long term usage of steroid cream thins the skin, not good in the long run.

But I got to say the steroid cream does work really well for me, the peeling and redness subsides within 2 days of application, by the 3rd day usually the skin will look clear as if there's no problem to begin with.

Oh ya, the peeling also happens in the nostril. Ever wonder how its like to have "dandruff" on your nose hair? [:p]

Saw my liver doc yesterday. He say the blood test result is still high so I still cannot consume alcohol. [:(] He printed the report for me to show me. Previously was 100+ then now dropped to 40only. He say good and keep up with the exercise. :D

Blood test S$58+

Doc consultation S$32

Medication S$79+

Only can claim S$32. [bigcry]

Must ask KBW how he get $8 surgery.

Just an update.

Good news from my specialist. Me no longer have fatty liver, I've been cured. Can drink alcoholic drinks now. [bounce2]

Bad news from specialist. I now have additional illness, Cervical Spondylosis. I was experiencing pain whenever I stretched my neck towards my back. After a review of my x-ray, doc told me of this new illness.

Another bad news from specialist. I experience pain when I tip toe. Doc said this is due to my AS, it has spread to the heel. There is inflammation in the heel, that is why I am experiencing the pain there. He suggest I wear slippers at home, no bare foot and apply ice on the heel whenever I experience the sharp pain.

cervical spondylosis is just a fancy term for age related degenerative arthritis. Don't worry.

In the spine, when ur arthritis progresses to like late stage, your spine bones will get bridged together by the bone bridges. So there is reduced range of motion of your spine.

Doesn't really happen for other normal joints.

Yeah, medical school is like learning how to speak a different language. Or like speaking in programming language between each other lol.

Different people get arthritis at different ages. I don't know if mine is similar but I got diagnosed with arthritis when I was 13. Maybe its in the genes cuz my brother also diagnosed with arthritis at 22.
