Hi Bro,

Does Proton malaysia provide Warranty for a 3yrs+ AMT gear box from S'pore? If I really get a Savvy AMT here?

warranty - no.

parts and service - yes.

for your info, if i not wrong.

proton malaysia only cover 2yrs or 100k mileage (don't know the exact)

for SG, 3 years or XXX mileage.

get a manual savvy instead [:)]

seriously, an AMT savvy is a flop...

auto license so can only drive Savvy AMT..... and enjoying it very much :)

one question....do our car boot space big enough for a 15" or 16" spare rim, if I want to change my rims to 15" or 16"?

thats a good news [thumbsup]

the max is only 15', other than that you will have a hard time when rear sitting people.

as the rear spring is kinda soft

the max tire is 195/45/15, which currently i'm using but once rear got people.

it will hit my absorber despite my rear already install spring buffer.

why need a spare rim... waste $ and petrol.

the spare tire should able to do the job

i don't think sg should need a spare tire, since our tow are so efficient

Hi Guys

I'm looking for a 2nd hand car and i've been staring at Proton Savvy for the longest time. My only hesitation is I don't know anything about proton cars. (Forgive me, ladies know s**t about cars). From what I've read, seems like the engine seems pretty decent and servicing can be done in JB provided someone take me. Do you peeps organise like group outings to go service car together in JB??? =X

What about mileage for this car? can it hit 13-14km/litre? Does the engine give any trouble?

Seen the car on the road. looks pretty nifty and not all that bad :D

P.S: Sorry gotta hijack the thread because i can't post a new topic.

well, something to let you know.

this is a good car for point A to B.

top speed can hit 160-180km for a 1.1cc, engine is a renault clio D4F.

easily can hit 13-14km/L.

engine wise, you can only go for manual and not the auto or what they call AMT.

AMT is a semi auto or to be frank, a flop project of renault.

all AMT owner give up theirs in less than 2 year of ownership.

This car is nasty and required high maintenance.

but rest assured. after you get everything in place, you will love it.

and proton car is really super cheap to own.

parts are easily available.

and servicing can be done in jb proton service center.

everytime i go, i spend less than sgd50. on top of that, still giving you warranty of 6 months

this car got 3 major problem:

ignition coil - if change to the newer type, then you are safe.

steering pressure switch - expensive part as this is an orginal renault part

speedometer sensor

well, i could not cover everything, you could probably pay a visit to the site at www.savoc.net

Hi Krutty

Just want to seek your advice, Savvy AMT as you shared is a flop but one of the bros here is enjoying his.. is it a common problem or heng suay problem?

If AMT has both auto and manual transmission rite? and driver buys AMT which 1st gear and 2nd gear is Abit unsmooth, then would it be better to move it to manual mode to drive? will that make it smoother?

cos clutchless system so less coordination and no stalling of cars haha

btw i drive a perodua and we all no longer go local agent cost local agent cmi.. we dun mind if they void our warranty cos the warranty they give us as good as dun have, gk to them Lot of heartache and time wasted plus many of us are opc users so money wasted.. so now we go across.. cheaper, faster, reliable and most importantly good quality workmanship...

thinking of a 2nd hand savvy normal plate to share with me and my bro so appreciate feedbacks

well, buying a car or any stuff sometime depends on luck...

sad to say, among the club of savvy or that i known of.. all sold away their AMT.

only manual are the ones that actually remains...

as i driving a manual, i can't advise you much on auto...

better you go to the forum and see for more understanding.

yeah, i also quite like malaysia car as servicing etc is really cheap and good.

too bad, they don't have much fanciful cars compared to korean or jap.

hope this helps ^_^
