Hi All,

Just curious ... wonder those low price cars, if gonna reg as OPC & CNG, how LTA calculate ...

For Example.

Hafei Minz 1.1L Manual - OMV in LTA webby is abt $5,400. After CNG rebate 40% of OMV, new OMV = $3,200. Assumming COE is $4,000. OPC rebate $17,000.

So $17,000 - $4,000 (COE) - $3,200 (rebated OMV) = - $9,800 [confused] Means what ? owner take back money ah ? [thumbsup]

Does that also means ZERO scrap value (except maybe some $$ for body).

Cheers

For OPC cars, LTA will take $17,000 first from COE followed by OMV. If still not enough to make up the $17,000, car owners have to top up cash. For your case, you have to top up $9,800.

Correct me if I am wrong.

aiyo ... then got to choose wisely to ensure COE+OMV to be as close as $17K rebate ...

For OPC, if the COE + OMV is less that $17k rebate.. then paper value = $0

Like that is like buying commercial vehicle, no residual value for car. I supposed road tax rebate also help.

have u tried asking some SE to calculate the 17k offset? ended everyone got confused and disagreed. cant imagine u throw in cng rebate haha

can u guys comments on this? opc car is 21k, omv 10k, coe peg at 4k. if next bidding get coe, say 6k, 2k will be rebate back to buyer. if coe is 2k, buyer no change. for the life of me, i cannot understand tis arrangement. i thot as long as coe under 7k, every happy, only lta face black black. there should not be coe peg at 4k, instead it can be limited to max 7k.

u r RIGHT.

i dun tink need to top up till 17k rite? 17k is rebate, to be offset by the coe, followed by arf. as with any rebate, unused portion cannot be encashed, hence considered gone /used. but no top up need as far as i understand from the policies of opc in onemotoring.com.sg

well, buy OPC still wan CNG for such a low price car? u asking for it, dun save the 17k rebate la.

gahmen also know this, think got scratched their heads, so coupling with the saturday usage, think they will reduce the 17k rebate to say 13k only.

actually at low COE (below 5k), y bother to buy OPC? jus get a normal car will do, else you will see your PARF value being cut!!!

gahmen give u something, u think they will lose out??? NO!!! in the end u suffer more. the OPC hafei may end up ZERO PARF value!!!

I m agree wth you

What's all this about you are right, I agree with ya?

If COE + OMV is <17k, the paper value will be zero. Top up for what?! (Those who agree earlier pls kindly enlighten) [confused]

Straight forward. And why does a 1 litre car need CNG? Go green?

Ya first sentance is right only

The 17k is a rebate, not penalty! Why the need to top up to 17k?! It's not gonna add to ya paper value anyway!!!

When it's more than enough to offset COE and OMV, then you pay nothing (lugi the difference). If not enough, then you top up the difference.

if COE + OMV is less than 17K, you need to top up the difference
