Was following this thread in SQ Talk

Can't help but think SQ is just as out of touch and clueless abt the customer feelings on the ground

...when compared to the men in white panties.

Ai ya, that guy just making a big hoo ha.

If you are a commerical paying passengers on F Class (744), they will transfer you to A380 without charge if there is any change of aircraft. That's a standard practice

As for the TS "skysuite", he/she is using mileage to redeem the ticket. SQ "R" Class (on A380) cannot use mileage to redeem.

I also faced the same suitation as TS few months back for my Japan trip.

I got news that SIN-NRT night and NRT-SIN day will be replaced by A380. I quickly make a redemption on First class on the old flight 744 costing me only 89250 miles.

When they finally announced and changed to A380, they also cant put me to R Suite.

In the end after much discussion, they put me both ways on their Business class A380 without any extra charge for the miles. I also happily accept it becos I dont have to pay for the extra 89250miles on Standard Award

The bone of contention is that when they introduced the A380 on new routes, the 747 redemptions in F were given the new "Suites" on the A380.

The "beyond the first, my azz" tag is getting lame. Given that these folks are die hard SQ fans and they walk the talk. It takes a lot to piss them when it comes to SQ loyalty and they are voicing more and more unhappiness at the way SQ treats their FFP VVIPs.

CX and QF have been actively retaining and poaching VIFFs from SQ. After cutting 11%, apparently, they are not bleeding enough to value non-corporates. SQ chose to focus on corporate customers because they know as long as you are not spending your own cash but the company's, no one gives a damn until now with all the financial carnage.

And now SQ is making passengers pay for their hedging mistakes as other airlines are dropping theirs.

I can't help but feel serves them right for the wrong way bets.

It says a lot when your most fanatical fans are so cheesed off.

SQ wants to migrate all to online so they just downgrade their hotline capability.

Piss u off so you lan lan go online.

Budget airline take this skill one level higher, they charge u facilitation fee for using credit card. Quite perverse, wait till you got problem when u booking online and try to call their hotline. really HOTline, by the time the agent takes your call, you have to restraint yourself just to be civil. In April 2009, we will see a bomb coming on the the big drop of the fuel surcharge.

Many people will start travelling

2 days ago, i booked tickets to Perth by Jetstar. No fuel surcharge. No credit card charge.

Only paid for ticket fare, singapore tax and australia tax only. This is really amazing.

Currently, most premium carrier are still holding on to their fuel surcharge. This will be consider profit for their Feb/Mar 2009 sales.

very famous i must say.

try holding on the line and get transfered here and there for 40minutes. i might not have experienced the longest waiting time, but still, they need to buck up

SQ is highly protective of suite class. No redemptions, no upgrades even if other classes are overbooked, for staff wise, only the very top can travel in Suite, the airline rather leave the Suite empty then to allow "free" travel in this class.

Only in case of equipment swap on same flight (say 744 to A380) then 1st class (only if tickets are issued) will be rebooked to Suite Class

ironically, the suites have triggered an opposite effect.

some passengers have noticed that on rather empty flights, the crew prefer it if u cocoon yourself in your suite as they would have sectioned off the empty one for their own use.

Nationalistic?

SQ prefers to talk $ and cents...we might end up talking to ourselves.

This is not bashing nor bashing for the sake of bashing. This SQ taking their FPPs for granted and to be frank, SQ is acting like it really wish it didn't have to administer their FPP program.
