Sleepyman Clutched February 19, 2009 Share February 19, 2009 (edited) Mediacorp was caught secretly preparing for election this year. This was highlighted in Yawning Bread blog showing mediacorp website with the page title showing "General Elections 2009", while the content still remains on 2006 election. This is obvious that Mediacorp is preparing the General Election website for this year. Now question is how do Mediacorp knows about this? If the ruling party has already decided that election will be this year, then why feign ignorance and not publicly announced it to Singaporeans? http://www.yawningbread.org/arch_2009/yax-987.htm If really got erection, times ahead must be very hard! Marvelicious 3rd Gear February 19, 2009 Share February 19, 2009 It's probably gonna get tougher. Which is why they want to hold the elections now. This way they can use the excuse of times are tough, don't rock the boat, go with the incumbent.

Damienic 5th Gear February 20, 2009 Share February 20, 2009 (edited) wat determines calibre of candidates?? must he have all the doctorates/masters and/or hold high positions in corporate/public sector before he is deemed as someone of high calibre? you only know if someone is capable and can work for the people only when he is into the job, not just by looking at his qualifications and CV.. it has been seen in so many yrs that lots of the so many so-called high calibre people working in the govt ain't tat great as well even though they are scholars and directors in corproate world.. Damienic 5th Gear February 20, 2009 Share February 20, 2009 the MIW always roll out the "superhuman" candidates for us to see weeks just b4 the elections...its always scholars in this and tat, phds/masters in this and tat and/or directors/GMs from this and tat...but do they really speak and do things for well-being of people? many of such people are so detached from the common pple on the ground..and when you hear a doctor saying things like 'can opposition lower the price of oil", it makes one wonder.. Topgun Neutral Newbie February 20, 2009 Share February 20, 2009 (edited) Papers today say polls not imminent (not 2009?). Also, boundary changes 'routine'. Reason given voters change polling district, hence boundaries have be readjusted. and this is so that no polling station handles too many or too few voters. (ST 20 Feb 09) This kind of reason also publish. They think we are stoopid or what? What's the reason Marine Parade GRC borders with AMK GRC liao? And Hougang Low Thia Khiang's district shrunk to a handful no of blocks. This is because voters moved and polling stations logistics?
