Canisminor 1st Gear February 17, 2009 Share February 17, 2009 I think the problem lies with this individual only... so far, I have not hear anything from the PRs I know. Unfortunately this guy is definitely not the only one of this kind around, just look thru this thread again. And I know quite a few PRs (by fate some married into my family), and the "one leg two boats" mentality is something that they all have since the system allows them to exploit it. In conclusion, its up to we Singaporeans to make our stand to our govt, however we choose to do it, and press for change. It may take time but we can't continue to let foreigners into our home, feed them, and then let them mock us for being overly generous.

Sgnick 1st Gear February 18, 2009 Share February 18, 2009 Cannot come back anymore even on social visit pass. Knew someone who was like that. Essentially, he was told by ICA if he land in Sin, he will be turned away by immigration officers. Now I know someone who can come back on social visit pass. Father PR, son PR but give up PR to siam NS. Every year come back to SPore on social visit pass somemore. So looks like this loophole is not plugged. Slayer Clutched February 18, 2009 Share February 18, 2009 The power of media. small thing only lah. this poor guy just made himself a target for nothing. no policy can make everybody happy. that is something we have to accept.
Latka 1st Gear February 18, 2009 Share February 18, 2009 Now I know someone who can come back on social visit pass. Father PR, son PR but give up PR to siam NS. Every year come back to SPore on social visit pass somemore. So looks like this loophole is not plugged. Seems like ICA making mistakes again. Then again, maybe relevant dept did not pass ICA this info. Remember Richard Yong and that chap who supposedly murdered Huang Na? NS is a very sensitive issue to MIW. Shull Turbocharged February 19, 2009 Share February 19, 2009 Only 1 sentence to say...... "You can do a million and 1 things, but as long as you never serve NS or not liable to bear arms in times of need, just shut the F**K up!" i totally agree with this one.. i treat those 2nd gen PR who sweat out in under the hot sun, endure sleepless nights due to guard duty as one of my own.. Kranjipioneer 3rd Gear February 20, 2009 Share February 20, 2009 They are all the same. Trying to milk as much as possible without commitments. Same for that foreign shuttler Riky Widianto. Free grooming by SBA for 3 yrs. When the moment of truth arrived, LL packed up and go. Good riddance. Don''t waste our $$. Lets see whether he is 'good' enough to make it to the Indoensian national team. And I certainly hope SBA would not take him back when he gets rejected by the Indonesian national team.
