Hishercar Clutched February 7, 2009 Share February 7, 2009 http://news.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNew...207-120077.html Priest expelled over remarks Sat, Feb 07, 2009 AFP ROME, ITALY - An ultra-conservative Roman Catholic society that has come under fire over a member's denial of the Holocaust said on Friday it had expelled another priest who cast doubt on Nazi gas chambers. The decision by the Italian chapter of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X to cut ties with Floriano Abrahamowicz came a week after the priest criticised the Vatican and said gas chambers were used for 'disinfecting.' 'For some time Don Floriano Abrahamowicz has expressed positions different that those of the Fraternity Saint Pius X,' the group said in a statement. 'The decision to expel him, as painful as it is, has become necessary to avoid a further deterioration of the image of the fraternity and so that its work on behalf of the church is not hurt,' it said. In an interview published last week, Mr Abrahamowicz told the daily La Tribuna di Treviso: 'I know that gas chambers existed at least for disinfecting but I can't say whether they caused deaths because I haven't explored the question in depth.' Abrahamowicz, who was responsible for the society's activities in northeastern Italy, also denounced the 1960s Vatican II reforms as 'worse than heresy.' His remarks came amid a spiraling diplomatic row over Pope Benedict XVI's decision to rescind the excommunication of Richard Williamson, a British-born bishop and fellow Saint Pius member. Following the outcry, the Vatican said on Wednesday Mr Williamson must 'unequivocally and publicly' change his views before he can be admitted to office in the Roman Catholic Church Personally I think, the priest personal believe that there was no gas chamber has nothing to do with religion yet he was expelled from the organisation. ↡ Advertisement

Scion Turbocharged February 7, 2009 Share February 7, 2009 well..i dont know about italy, but in germany, it's against the law to deny the holocaust.. that's why Germany is fine with its neighbouring countries now whereas China and Korea still hate Japan... Japan should also have a law that cannot deny all the s--t that they have done in WWII
Hishercar Clutched February 7, 2009 Author Share February 7, 2009 when i was in Germany a few years ago and had a conversation with the professor in a University, he said that the Germans are so "frightened" of the Jews now in Germany because everything that the Jews complain can be perceived as an act of aggression towards the race. But in the case of the priest, how is it that acknowledging the holocaust would bring you into the good books of the church I remember that the church persecuted those who believe the earth was round. Then what?

Latka 1st Gear February 7, 2009 Share February 7, 2009 that's why Germany is fine with its neighbouring countries now whereas China and Korea still hate Japan... Japan should also have a law that cannot deny all the s--t that they have done in WWII I dont think Japan deny their actions during WW2. The problem people have with them is that they have shrines to honour the soldiers and that the leader always go to pay respects to them too. People see this action as condoning or approving the actions of the soldiers.
Hishercar Clutched February 7, 2009 Author Share February 7, 2009 as we respect other people religion not too long ago either BBC or NG showed a documentary to explain why they have shrine to pray to their soldiers the Japanese apparently believe that the dead are a different kettle of fish altogether and has nothing related to their war crimes or to raise their profile of their war deeds it is something like when we chinese pray to our ancestors but a little different it is like in this modern day and age why Muslim women dont pray in the mosque with the man but out of respect for the 1000 year old region we need to respect the religious believe which we may not understand everything in detail similarly why do some religion dont eat beef, poor or even MSG i think many of the Japanese people do NOT condone to the War or are ashamed of their war crimes BUT is it equally right to KILL 100000s of innocent Japanese civilians by the two Atomic bombs the geneva convention explicitly condemns killing or making innocent civilians as a pon the Americans because of their power and world status, many have not challenged their international intervention by soon many countries will question
Hishercar Clutched February 7, 2009 Author Share February 7, 2009 there are many reasons why the Japanese dont want to claim wrong maybe if they do imagine how many billions dollars of compensation they have to pay out and that may bankrupt their country what about the americans dropping those american invention and american made mines that have blown off so many many innocent citizens including children they are not being held responsible to clear up their dirty work in Asia and middle east who is footing those bills to clear those mines ↡ Advertisement
