Try_conti 2nd Gear February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 think its more than just casing. the boot up screen shows Compaq. That means it comes with a motherboard with a specific BIOS from Compaq. I suggest you go find some of the necessary drivers before attempting to reinstall or else you may get stuck half way through ....
Suhong Neutral Newbie February 6, 2009 Author Share February 6, 2009 Could you tell me how?? Hope you can guide me, i am also looking for the windows installation CD, any idea where i could find?
Try_conti 2nd Gear February 6, 2009 Share February 6, 2009 one option is to go to HP-Compaq's website to see if you can find the relevant drivers for this model of PC. Its probably under some obsolete models. If you can find it, download it. Regarding OS, there's a problem. Original Windows XP (I assume you use Windows XP) requires activation. You can't install it on more than one computer using the same serial number. Of course, there're are those $10 ones but I won't go there ..... If you have the original Windows XP that you bought for this system, use that. Or else, you'll have to buy the OS or look for someone to 'donate' one to you. Of course, you can always use linux which can be downloaded for free .....
