Yeah 1.8 is with Dual VVTi. Drove in one before.

 

Feeling is diff from the 1.5 VVTi.

 

Dual VVTi... supposed to be something like i-VTEC (which I dont think it is there yet.). Maybe becos of this, the 1.8 version's suspension feels harder, think the suspension settings between the 2 models are quite different.

Dual VVT-i is different from I-VTEC.

 

VVT-i utilised cam phasing to prolong/shorten intake valve opening/closing during OTTO cycle depending on engine load.

The above is CAM PHASING.

 

I-Vtec is called CAM LIFTING. Most I-VTEC engine is SOHC application. However, it has 2 cam, normal & economy.

Yeah, Toyota is very smart... Allion and Axio are 2 different cars yet using the same engine for 2 different markets. BTW, allion is of Carina of old.

Allion/Premio is in d same league as Camry except Jipun ppl like smaller ka. That's why Corona -> Premio. Carina -> Allion.
