Its about time someone post something that is actually meaningful. Last time the pic was out of proportion, now only left the head.... where is the old pic??? Anyway, I am sure there is a premium difference between the Allion and Altis. Even when I sat in the Lancer EX 2.0 and 1.5, there are hell lot of difference in quality. The chassis I think is different from Corolla. Allion is a replacement model for Carina in Japan. Carina susppose to be a model higher than Corolla in Japan. Corolla Axio = Corolla Altis. That's why their wheel base is same and internal is also almost same. It is the same 1NZ-FE. Toyota has 2 1.5L engine, 1NZ-FE & 1NZ-FXE. D diff btw 2 is 1 is otto cycle (1NZ-FE) & d other 1 is atkinson cycle. 1NZ-FXE is only for prius. 1NZ-FE has different tuning for different mkt. Even though Allion is higher than level than Corolla, it shares d same chassis. It is like Mark X, IS250 & GS300 shares d same chassis. Toyota is in cost sharing. Beehive3783 Turbocharged January 30, 2009 Share January 30, 2009 Huh.. I don't see anything special about the Allion. And you mentioned the design is perfect/flawless. However it's definitely not my meat. I'm ok with Toyotas in general, but their designs have gotten pretty bad IMO in recent years. Performance wise, typical Toyota standard, nothing extraordinary and FC is pretty much expected to be good. So that's pretty much it. Nothing special. Some say 'A-Lion' Some say 'Ah-Lion' Some say 'A-Leon' Some say 'Ah-Leon' I gave up in the end. Cos Japanese are notorious in giving names to their models. Ain't it pronounced as "AY - LEE - ON" ? Other than than, none are similar between the both rides. Axio... and Allion... imho are od 2 different classes. The FC is legendary, but the high pricetag cannot cover the savings in FC. My usual FC is normally 15km/l.... highest ever on SG roads was 16km/l.... NSHW...avg 17km/l i sat in my friend's allion. he only drives in two modes. Binary. It struck that kind of feeling in me when I first saw the Allion on SG road ard end 2007. Since then, each time I saw one on the road, the itch grew to own one . Until Buay Tahan, I finally changed my ride to Allion in May 2008. And never looked back. I wanted the 1.8 version... too bad that time no PI was bringing in. just my opinion, pls don't flame me, i feel that allion is in a totally different category as compared to altis 08 and axio. allion is positioned one notch higher with the quality of its interior, albeit having only a 1.5litre engine.
