Kelpie 2nd Gear January 28, 2009 Share January 28, 2009 I search the thread on Sumitomo tires. No much feedback and some threads were started with no reply to it. Trying my luck here. Here is the review from www.tirerack.com : The Sumitomo HTRZ II is an Ultra High Performance Summer radial designed to blend appearance, performance and comfort. This combination makes the HTRZ II appropriate for many of today's sporty cars because it provides a unique look with a size lineup of 17" and 18" rim diameter "Plus Two" and "Plus Three" fitments. Like all summer tires, the HTRZ II is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. On the outside the HTRZ II's tread pattern features extra wide, arched tread blocks to enhance dry road traction and handling. The blocks vary in size and shape to help minimize noise levels and are separated by Multi Direction Water Channels to help increase wet traction and resist hydroplaning. On the inside the HTRZ II features two steel belts with spirally-wrapped Jointless Nylon Band reinforcement for high-speed durability and predictable handling while minimizing weight and improving ride uniformity. The lower sidewall features Single Strand Beads for improved wheel fit and Wheel Flange Guards to help protect alloy wheels from curb damage. Anyone used Sumitomo before? Are their prices competitive? Thank you. Regards, ↡ Advertisement

Kelpie 2nd Gear January 28, 2009 Author Share January 28, 2009 not sure abt tis UHP taya, but e H4 is not tat ex @110 for 205/60/16. now lets c whether HTRZ II comes in my size. Looks noisy thou H4 is an all season tire which, I thought you probably pay for something like snow traction that we don't need/use. The HTR H4 is Sumitomo's High Performance All-Season Radial developed to meet the year-round driving needs of sports car, coupe and sedan drivers by blending dry and wet road performance with light snow and slush traction. The HTR H4 radials combine Sumitomo's high tech radial materials and methods with their latest All-Season technology. The Sumitomo HTR H4's advanced all-season silica tread compound is molded into a pattern that features stabilized independent shoulder blocks with intermediate tread blocks to enhance dry cornering and stability, while three wide circumferential and long parabolic curved grooves combine to enhance wet traction and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. The HTR H4's curvilinear siping adds strategically located biting edges in the tread pattern to increase light snow traction. Internally, the HTR H4 radial's twin steel belts are reinforced by Sumitomo's Jointless Nylon Band (JNB) technology which uses spirally wound reinforcement to provide long term integrity under high speed conditions while it reduces weight and helps provide more uniform ride quality.
