I wonder if anyone has got positive experiences with any of their products.

 

So far I've used their quickwax and quick detailer. Wasn't really up to my expectations.

 

Yesterday I bought their NXT Gen Tech Protect (for vinyl, rubber, and plastic surfaces in the car interior) and I just used it. It's really disappointing. Leaves streaks behind and the surfaces look as though they leave random oil patches having evaporated.

 

Is there a special way in which I have to use meguiar's products? Like use ONLY their cloth or something?

I use their NXT shampoo for my weekly wash and have been pretty satisfied with it. The ScratchX works as advertised as well. Haven't tried the quick detailer though heard from others it's pretty good as well.

 

Don't think it requires any special effort or the need to use their cloth...maybe try reading the instructions of the product??

i'm pretty sure you're using their products wrongly becuase Maguire's have been known to work really well if used correctly and properly.

I guess the name already suggests it...QUICKwax, and QUICKdetailler...these products are NOT to replace a proper waxing/detailling...they're more for in between washes use.

 

I've been using Maguires for a couple of years now and i've been happy with their products..'ve tried other brands like Turtlewax, autoglym,3M but none match Maguires... i might try duragloss after i finish my maguires...

 

I usually start with the NXT wash, then use the techwac, scratchx etc...step by step...in order according to their recommendation and they all work well.

 

Just go to their website and watch al the videos on how to use their products...quite informative and useful

I have also been using Meg's product for some time now. No complaints. Very good products.

 

Any thing wrong with their quickwax? I thou its pretty similar to DG aquawax, mist and wipe off.

my opinion about NXT Gen Tech Protect - Interior Protectant:

 

it is a rubbish product.... nothing about application method... it's just rubbish. Tho If you like your interior to look like it has been wiped with cooking oil, i.e. greasy look on your dashboard, then maybe this is the product for you.

 

Megs got a lot of good - great products e.g. nxt/gold class shampoo, megs polishing pads, mf applicators, foam applicators, quick detailers, nxt metal polish, nxt glass cleaner etc., but for me.. this is certainly not one of them.

i tk i have too high expectations of their quickwax.. esp when it's supposed to be quik.

 

it takes quite some effort to buff them off .. and CLEANLY.. if not they leave hard to remove white spots

hmm.. strange that you mentioned autoglym. i just started on autoglym and i found it useful for removing very stubborn marks and minor scratches. imo it works quite good.

 

im getting a feeling i may have to use solely meguiars products for them to work as intended?

I'm not implying anything, but did you shake the bottle proper before you used the contents?

I've been using Megs for 20yrs now, US and here, and never had a problem with any of their products,

the quick detailer is great, specially the newer version.

 

I use their consumer and professional line as well. Seriously no problems.

I personally never took off with the NXT line, I'm best with the old vinyl cleaner and interior cleaners.

If you hate the oily feel, use the Ultimate Detailer from Megs. Great for everything, glass, exterior and interior.

for interior i use Optimum Protectant Plus now.... and it's fantastic. Nice matt look.

meguirs is good if u use their professional range, the consumer range is decent for normal jobs only (regular maintenance)

 

autogylm SRP is one of the most agressive off the shelf cleaners/polishers

not really, i usally pair srp + dg 105 + megb26 for my dad ride, while i uses srp + meg 26 for my ride.

any idea which is the product and where can i get my hands on one?

well. not really too much... i didn't really notice dust build up so i guess that's good?..

however, i guess dust will be inevitable due to some static from wiping interior esp if you dry buff too much (logically speaking)... OPP is easy wipe off, so not much buffing required... maybe that's the side effect - less static - less dust?

I've just bought the Meguairs NXT Car Wash. It kinda left 'patches' on my car after a wash.

 

Did I pour too much a capful or is there some way of washing the car that I don't know of?

I highly recommend the Duragloss.

I'm not a detailing guy, I just want a quick protection.

So I bought the washer and polisher (# 101). Did my first polish last week, then went overseas and left the car in the open carpark.

When I came back yesterday, I was surprised to feel the smoothness is still there after 1 week.

There were lots of leaves and dust, but they seemed to be easy to rinse off.

 

None of the wax I used before lasted more than 3 days in terms of smoothness.

 

I'm pretty impressed.
