No Gold Coast photo?
🤭

On your request.

I did not  take much beach photo as only stay there for short timing.  I am not a beach person as I will be hiding away from sun and the temperatures is too warm for my like. The Surfer Paradise beach was still very quiet. Not many people even it is summer.

Prefer to go to mountain area. As temperature will always be cooler and I can go for some hiking.

Also attached my rental car photo.  Hyundia i30 1.4T. During booking it indicated Kia Cerato 1.6. I think the i30 is nicer drive with the 1.4T engine.  Handling was very good with good steering feel and better torque on the mountain drive.

Drive to Darlington Grove for a farm stay book through Airbnb that was converted from a old Dairy Shed. On the way drop by supermarket to bought some food prepared for next 2 days as here is at least 36km from the nearest town.

I see food is provided, no need to go supermarket.

Unless you don't like lamb!

There are cow also and some chicken.  I can pick some fresh egg here.  Just pick one today and hope tomorrow morning I am able to get more.

Bro Tohto, may I ask how much was your AirBnB stay? I never use before... how many people can stay? Cos I always use Booking.com or Agoda.com for hotels... heard that AirBnB is much cheaper so thought to ask you since you're staying in them...

use the airbnb app, quite easy n convenient. I use it in a few country like BKK, HK, taiwan. For farmstay in oz can deal with the owner directly. Many hotel booking platform now also handle private owned units like airbnb.

airbnb is cheaper and able to accommodate more pax, but beware of whether the owner stay-in or rent out whole unit.

It will depends on the size of the unit, number of bedroom, location.  Is the whole unit rent out etc...

Just go register an account and input some information for testing.

I also only start using Airbnb this year.  First for my NYC trip and now Brisbane.  For Australia I believe will easy to find one with whole unit with multiple bedroom rent out.

For NYC cost saving comparing with hotel is significant if you are ok to stay in a room where the owner is also living there in the house.

Do take note AirBnB will not have daily room cleaning service.

Final day at Brisbane. Visited Farmers weekend Market at QUT in the morning.  Fresh products is much cheaper than supermarkets.  Afternoon visited Glass Mountain National Park in the South of Brisbane.

That round off my visit here main purpose for attending my daughter Graduation.  2 more years to go for her Master.

Always love farmers markets... lots of nice things to look at and buy... especially foods that are not so easily available... heh... reminds of the one we did in Margaret River...

Hypersonic

Anyone try the the hot air balloon in Gold Coast?

Managed to find one but they only have sun rise flight. I was looking for sun set.

Looking at their sun rise time of 4.45am in mid Dec, that's mean I need to wake up at 3am+. It is too early for me.

Yes. Did it some years ago. Very early morning (pick up at the golf course club house?), cold, and ended up in a field with cow dungs.... 😆
