Thanks for the valuable advises everyone. [laugh]

 

The report does look a little dodgy, STA's remarks were "chassis frame scratch".

 

 

 

Is the following formula correct?

 

 

Annual depreciation = (buying price - paper value) / number of years

Less than 2 yrs old, 17k mileage... seems a good deal? says comes with 18" Rays wheel (can anyone id the model?)...

forget abt the rating given by STA, they r just another workshop in a bigger scale and the dealer is their customer....

 

Forget abt the milleage, that can be easily adjusted....

 

forget about the warranty they give.... if PI words cannot be trusted, 2nd car dealer is worst.... even there is black n white, they are ready to get sued....

 

bring the car to your trusty workshop and get the car checked throughly and advise u accordingly.

Those wheels are definitely not VR.G10s. They are very newly released, look very different, and are very expensive

 

These are VR.G10s...and they only come in 19 inch.

possibly the gram lights 57Optimise. although i thought those wheels only had lips on them, and this one doesnt.

 

Could be a bloody knockoff aka replica for all we know. those wheels look like ass anyway, so i wouldnt factor them into the purchase decision

as usual, some will say that not all dealers/PI are bad, there are still good ones. we would be foolish to believe in such ppl.

I think it's a rays g-games 77m. Was shopping for rims and was quoted abt 500 per piece for 18.

Dealer willing to release at 56K with one free servicing inclusive of 4 brand new brake pads and a full tank of petrol.

 

 

Have seen and tested vehicle, completely stock and in good condition.

 

Accident free and given "B" rating by STA (have seen report).

 

Dealer's workshop also inspected vehicle and is willing to provide 3 yrs warranty on the following parts:

 

1) Gearbox

2) Electronics

3) Engine

 

 

Only condition is that vehicle must be serviced by them, each servicing cost $100+

Rx8 are a little bit poseurs in that they have nice styling but not very fast. Well rather they can be somewhat fast but you have to thrash them within an inch of their lives. They dont have longivity cos their rotary seals wears out faster than normal cars and if they need to be well take care( ie they need rotary mineral lube only) and if they r not changed at 5k, then wear & tear is accelerated. I think they need a turbo to make it faster but then again their engine runs hot as it is (yeah you can feel the heat from inside the cabin). Then there is the famous fuel consumption..maybe 5-6km a liter? I think get Evo9/X or Type R better or maybe Mazda Miata has much less issues and is a well balanced car. My 2 cents
