Lufu 1st Gear January 22, 2009 Share January 22, 2009 No matter what individual thinks, it's mass perception that matters. BMW/Merc is still the tier 1 European brand afterall. Freude am Fahren - my sig says it all.

Freude am Fahren - my sig says it all. Cool sig! For the record since I am fairly new to this forum, I currently drive a civilian Merc, non-taxi, one of the few with good balance/distribution, responsive rack & pinion steering and it does give me driving pleasure believe it or not, but your sig is hilarious! And more often than not, very true, hehe. To extrapolate on your point, Mercs were used as SBS buses and Army 3 tonners too! I have personally owned Hondas, Toyotas, Audi BMW and Volvo as well and this is my first time owning a Merc. Life's too short to be sticking to any one brand, hence my sig

donchew76 3rd Gear January 22, 2009 Share January 22, 2009 Mugen RR is a nice car, but the depreciation? Add to it intangibles such as perceived prestige, and "pussy-pulling" power, in this case a used BMW E92/93 appears to be of better value. U will be surprised Mugen RR got more "pussy-pulling" power. At least can attract more "lians" keke....Guess end of the day, it all boils down to consumer choices....think it's diificult to measure depreciation with RR since there is only 300 in the world. Just take note of NSXs that still command a premium after so many years.....IMHO, a BMeer is probably too common on singapore roads to warrant any special attention.... Black320 1st Gear January 22, 2009 Share January 22, 2009 I drive a 320. I love the drive and do not mind being seen in one. In Sillypore, you spend at most 20 mins on highway and most of the time in traffic Do you really need the extra power? Do you get a chance to feel it in such a short distance Go figure... Having said that, I would like to drive a 6 pot as well.... but on real roads and what it is built for. My 2 cents
Throttle2 Supersonic January 23, 2009 Share January 23, 2009 Thats great Black 320. good for you, and I respect your opinions. hopefully you respect mine (becos you seem to have misunderstood the point) anyhow welcome to this forum since i havent seen you here before, i think. and dont ever ever let me catch you in a 6pot driving in singapore, heh heh. Qr25vet Clutched January 23, 2009 Share January 23, 2009 u are wrong on that one...from what i know many PI cars come from HK...cos HK cars are ECE spec...but @ the end of the day its the same as PML's offerings...and u might even have abit of probs when it comes to software cos diff specs got diff programs...which is why i would rather go for PML
Qr25vet Clutched January 23, 2009 Share January 23, 2009 the N46T(current batch fo IL4 engines) has improved alot over the N42 and 46...but i'm still reserving my verdict cos its still relatively new so those probs have not come out yet...so far so good thats what i can say... Bmwcar Neutral Newbie January 23, 2009 Share January 23, 2009 I have to agree that 6 potter is much better than 4 potter. However, 4 potter is sufficient to zoom around Singapore Road. If money is not a issue, it is better to go for a 6 potter IMHO

Having said that, I would like to drive a 6 pot as well.... but on real roads and what it is built for. My 2 cents since it's a lazy saturday, just to add, i dont spend 20 mins on highway and most of the time in traffic. in fact it takes me only 10 mins to drive to work and no highway yet no jam at all. 6 pot doesnt necessarily mean extra power. 4 pot can be more powerful. in this context, i prefer my 6 potter than your 4 potter anytime. and i get to feel the difference everytime i step into my car regardless of the distance travelled. i have never driven my BMWs out of Singapore (not this one, not the previous one, not likely any one) maybe you go figure. heh having said that i would like to drive a 4 pot as well , just not the 320i Edited January 24, 2009 by Throttle2
Bmwcar Neutral Newbie January 24, 2009 Share January 24, 2009 Not sure where you work. If your office is near mine (Serangoon) then we can have lunch together. You can drive my humble 4 potter 318i for a spin ↡ Advertisement
