Hi all,

 

What to do when infected with Shingles?

 

Saw doc today and diagnosed as herpes zoster; aka Shingles.

 

i did a search on it on MCF and came out this thread

Any more advices? What not to eat or drink? Can bathe?

 

Doc gave a cream called Dravyr Cream

 

Shingles is at ear area, the outer folds of the ear.

 

Doc say if the infection goes to the eyes, can get blind..... geez...

 

 

Should see TCM? or just use the Dravyr Cream?

 

Doc never give MC.... how come no MC? i been wondering, and i forgot to ask for MC.

 

Isn't Shingles infectious?

 

i had shingle on half of my face before, started from above my eyebrow and extend to mouth, nose, head, ear...... if you are at the early stage, be prepared for more pain to come the doctor should give you medicine to stop the pain.... even if it is fully recover, some people still need the medicine to standby as the pain, blister can come back when you are stress...

Please lah! Instead of asking around about it here. Talk to your doctor for aciclovir. I've seen it work on my grandma. It disappeared damn fast. Pain? What pain, no chance to feel pain since it came and went so fast with aciclovir.

 

Cream? You got labial herpes infection? Cream is for that only. For pussies.

It costs a lot but the other option is pain from the blisters. Your choice. Time to use your Medisave. BTW, its an injection. Once you discover you got shingles, quickly go get injected with aciclovir.
