Dashboard center console replacement???

Hey all,

Had this anti-slip mat on my altis 08 center console of the dashboard. Just yesterday, I decided to remove it and realized it stained (rubber marks) the plastic portion of the console (the smooth surface that's attached as a piece with the aircon and hazard light).

Tried to clean it but guess the solvent was too strong and now, the colour of the console faded [smallcry]

Called BM and they quoted me close to $300 to get the console plastic replaced (they say must replace whole set, including those near the aircon / radio panel) and it takes 4 to 6 weeks to order the parts!

Anyone can advice if there's anywhere else I can get the console replaced? It's just the top portion only...

Attach stock image for reference.

Or get some soft toys to place over that area. Bcos the area affected it quite central, I think can find many cheap solution.

No point paying so much $$ to replace it.

Cheers!

had the same problem as u. i tried using armor all wax and the colour came back without any stain left. [confused]

You mean the faded portion was gone and the original colour came back??? How could it be possible?

Yeah, trying to ignore it as much as possible but i really hate to see it this way!

Sticker over the entire panel? Like what some do for their bonnets?

Can give JJ Decal a call to see if James can fix it. He's good at customising these stickers. When I was there, I saw a roll of 3M carbon fibre material which is textured. Looks & feels very good.....

does any1 know which workshop in the west or north area can service my Sunny console clip? did ask TC, the service adviser told me it will be very costly as it has to import from Japan.

Supercharged

yep. either CF the portion, or go scrapyard to find a replacement.

I recently went to the one at Defu lane. they got quite a good selection.

much neater to walk into than the ones in woodlands~!
