Zedzee 1st Gear January 6, 2009 Share January 6, 2009 (edited) cos there is a stretch (1 lane on each side) near anderson sec sch which has concrete divider in between and taxis like to stop there and cars (including me) like to squeeze through. Worst scenerio is when bus 265 stops there and traffic will come to a standstill. Edited January 6, 2009 by Zedzee
Gramlights Neutral Newbie January 6, 2009 Share January 6, 2009 (edited) At times. A couple of seconds of waiting even minutes of patience will save you from alot of trouble. And not forgetting unforeseen inconvenience and hidden cost. But it's all good if you've learn the lesson and at a low cost. Most importantly, no one is hurt (I hope) ... So drive safe bro ... Life in Singapore very stressful already. No harm being patient for that 1 or 2 minute or worse, 5 minutes. I encounter similar scenarios everyday near my office at town. Ultramega 1st Gear January 6, 2009 Share January 6, 2009 $80 is enough to do respraying of the specific section of the damaged body. $80 can only do spot spraying i believe. need to find a skillful person to do it. if want to spray the whole piece (paint would be more even), i think $80 not enough. A_korusawa 5th Gear January 7, 2009 Share January 7, 2009 Yes I agree, but patience must c/w caution...... Y'know that road from Upper Thomson into Thomson Rd; just under the overhead hi-way where allows vehicles to go straight (to Lornie) or turn left (to Thomson/Balestier). Well, this Merc taxi overlapped his tyres into my path, extreme right lane. I slowed down til my tyres almost touches the kerb on my rite. The taxi continues as if he owns 2 lanes and worse, having his signal lites blinkin' to his left. It left me no choice but to warn him with slight horn. Then he performed shorts brakes, trying to scare me off. Of cos, I din wanna waste further time with him but to halt signal left, let him pass & zoom off behind his left. Should I be more 'patience', he'd have 'squeeze' into my path and causes scratches on my front bumper with his sides. And I'm sure he will claim that its my fault to cut into his lane....... Another occasion with the almighty Korean taxi c/w mushroom. Reaching towards a x-junction, signal right for right turn....suddenly this taxi signal right from middle lane (blink only once), dashed into my lane, performed E-brake & swerved for a u-turn. Of cos, I managed to stop with my number plate touched his. Again, I was patience with his sudden lane switch but never expect him to E-brake for U-turn. I've bumped into good & considerate Taxi drivers. But lately, I dunno if its the economic downturn that revises those 'hooligans' style taxi driving. I sincerely hope that no one falls into this 'trap' set by these breed of taxi drivers. Cheers!
Chrispie 5th Gear January 7, 2009 Share January 7, 2009 $80 is enough to do respraying of the specific section of the damaged body. Buses too. Now still need special arrows to make it official for us to give way, not to mention the rights to fine us for not. WTF.
Chrispie 5th Gear January 7, 2009 Share January 7, 2009 These idiots never check blind spot and check right mirror b4 moving off Some taxis really one kind.. Last nite was driving out of the car park and there is a car stopped by one side with hazard lights on... So i have to momentarily go by the right of the car and into the 'oncoming' side. As i inch out, there is a taxi about 30m ahead approaching. It was night so my headlights on, for sure he can see i am trying to do a pass on the stationary vehicle. Typically for cases like this, if im at the taxi's position, i would have waited and let the car infront go first. ESpecially when that car is already at least half car into my path. But for this stupid taxi driver, instead of slowing down, he actually sped up, and honk as he do so! I am already beside the stopped car and he is like a distance away! WTF. I was thinking now he bopian will have to stop since i have the initiative. But he jz kept closing in until i have like few inches cleared on both sides to squeeze pass the stopped car on my left, and the stupid taxi diagonally across right. I stared at him and he gave me this bloody smuck face. Can see it was done in purpose. What is going thru this bird brain!?
