Hi all,

Anyone been to JB via causeway recently? how's the new CIQ, has everything restored to normal stage or the jam is as bad as before? Is the jam as bad as Singapore checkoint standard or worst thant the jam in Spore checkpoint (which i think is quite impossible to be worst than the jam in spore checkpoint)?

appreciate your advise.

It is not good, previously entry to Malaysia is relatively smooth, now also jammed. The cause is obvious.... buses, cars, and motobikes are now squeezed into a 2-lane road leading to the new CIQ, the 80-yr old causeway is wider.

Aiyo.... why the msia govt learn this kind of stupid thing from singapore, i tot only the stupid design in spore like to merge a few roand into one or two lane and causes the jam...look at our "world class" checkpoint... :(

I find the new CIQ very smooth sailing, no jam whatsover when I drove in during eve of Christmas and also returning on the following Sun prior to New Year... totally jam-free, so I don't understand where this hoo-hah about the massive jam arose from? In fact I think its better than the SG side.

Why do you even go Malaysia?

Dont go JB

You may be robbed.. please be responsible ...if you have kids and GF/Wife..

the incidence of RAPE is on the rise.. many women were Raped at Gunpoint.. and some killed..

Those robber's life is cheap.. maybe worth $10 at most but our lives are more expensive..depending on your nett worth.. but most are above $50K to about $1 Million...

Just beware..JB alot of Cheap lives

Let me share with you my experience when I go through CIQ on the 3rd (sat) morning about 7 am.

Just as good as ( or slightly better than) the old checkpoint. Only 2 cars ahead of me and within 10 minutes passports checked and stamped. I reload my touch and go card for another RM100 for my journey to Malacca.

The only mistake I made was the wrong turn that took me to the seaside road instead of my usual Jalan Terbau way which is nearer.

Anyway it was OK. May be it was still early at 7 am.

Haven't really use the new JB CIQ since it was officially opened.

I did go thru' on 2 Dec when it was just opened the day before. I found it quite a distance from the old checkpoint tho'

Must try to go in one of these days.

Hello guys,

Any ideas where can i take the white card when driving in?

Counters at the customs will have the cards.

But i not too sure whether is all counters or selective.

I got mine at lane D counter 2 the last time.

Dun talk for the sake of talking! Think before hand! Wat do you mean their live worth $10 yours more expensive? So your children worth nothing because they have no nett worth on the day they were born?

This is inhumanity words to put up!

If that is really so why dun Singapore close down all road to the north? Then we will be the really INDEPENDENT!

I was there around 6am on Christmas eve. No jam, smooth flowing. Stop the car at the custom booth and proceed to another booth to top up.

And Yes, same mistake as you, as advised by some brothers here to keep right after custom (going Terbau way) somehow saw the Big middel Sign (I think there are 3) indicating KL and I followed it. Somehow it led me to the much lolnger seaside Dayang way.

I used the causeway yesterday. In fact, JB CIQ is much much more efficient than SG side. I got stuck at a SG counter for 15 mins waiting for a Malaysia car (2 adults & 3 kids) to clear. IMAGINE!!! (can turn off engine and take a short nap). Over in JB side, in less than 1 min, i'm thru! [drivingcar]

thats bcuz sg side tight liao. they can afford to be lax.. i remembered when i was in melbourne airport, i was approached by a custom offr. when i declared that im a s'porean and came from there i was almost immediately let to pass.

or maybe in the first place jaybee's security is already lax.

Well, the grand plan to rebuild the causeway did not materialise, so this just an add-hoc solution. Saw the half-build flyovers leading to nowhere, it doesn't look like they will be going anywhere soon.

The jam during peak period may worsen, especially during feastive periods, hope I am wrong on this one.
