Wind30 Turbocharged January 5, 2009 Share January 5, 2009 (edited) I go home every evening and find a jam at the KPE entrance from airport road. Some crazy idiot put a traffic light there which toggles every second when there is a car coming out from the airbase. It is because that idiot put sensors in the ground to detect traffic on the main road, the small road from the airbase, BUT FORGOT to put sensor on the lane going into the KPE.... So basically, although there is a huge jam of cars waiting to get into KPE, the traffic light doesn't know and turns red the moment a car appears from the airbase..... To make matters worse, there is NO NEED for a traffic light on the slip road leading to KPE as the cars from the airbase cannot turn into the slip road... So basically, all of us is waiting for nothing. So there is a long queue of cars trying to get into KPE every evening. I have called LTA last month and until now still like that. Anyone have any ideas? LTA number: 1800 - 2255 582 maybe if more people call, someone will fix the problem. Mandy83 Neutral Newbie January 5, 2009 Share January 5, 2009 Thats because Singaporeans are too stupid to navigate uncontrolled junctions, thus traffic lights EVERYWHERE. Think about that next time you're stuck at a red light in the middle of nowhere waiting for ghosts to cross the road.
Tohto Hypersonic January 5, 2009 Share January 5, 2009 I am also using that entrance into KPE after work. Agree that the stupid traffic light is causing a lot of jam.
Wind30 Turbocharged January 5, 2009 Author Share January 5, 2009 I am also using that entrance into KPE after work. Agree that the stupid traffic light is causing a lot of jam. can u give LTA a call? someone called me after a few days of my call saying they will look into it. Until now still like that. I guess if a LOT of people call them, they will actually get off their butts and fix it. I am going to call them this morning to complain again but there is that much one person can do. Wind30 Turbocharged January 5, 2009 Author Share January 5, 2009 Stomp it lor but not very sensational for stomp... traffic light? I am just hoping to get fellow users who use that entrance to push LTA to fix it. The traffic light is totally unnecessary. To make matters worse the timing is all wrong. Think about that next time you're stuck at a red light in the middle of nowhere waiting for ghosts to cross the road. I'll simple ignore the red light and proceed after checking for traffic and cameras. Been doing that along tanah merah coast road for years liao. Spiderman 1st Gear January 7, 2009 Share January 7, 2009 Ha ha.... didn't know this thread exist. In fact I just wrote in yesterday to feedback to them - waiting for them to give me a reply. This is one of the most stupid traffic light I've seen, and I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling this way. In my email, I've suggested to them to replace the traffic light with a zebra crossing (blue line in the little diagram I've sent to them as well). Hope this daily nightmare will be a thing of the past soon.
Wind30 Turbocharged January 7, 2009 Author Share January 7, 2009 email to MOT, cc lemon lim, he will forward to the corp comms and LTA to look into it... actually the LTA number is pretty convenient. The first time I called last month, an officer actually called me back on my hp number which I left with them and inquired about when is the jam, etc. So I guess that is really the number to call. Today when I called to recomplain, that guy on the phone said he took a similar call some time back and he will email the officer in charge and get back to me ASAP. I think if EVERYONE who uses that entrance call LTA, somebody must do something...... It has been over a few months already right....

Wind30 Turbocharged October 5, 2010 Author Share October 5, 2010 LTA actually fixed this a couple of months back. now that traffic light is decoupled from the main light and only turns red when there is pedestrains.
Kb27 Supersonic October 6, 2010 Share October 6, 2010 LTA has plenty of leftover traffic lights. So they like to put it every 50m wherever possible. ↡ Advertisement
