Axela72 5th Gear January 3, 2009 Share January 3, 2009 (edited) Comparing Mazda 6 , Cerifo (Teana), Mark X, Camry, Accord and Legacy in term of: 1) Cost; 2) Look; 3) Spacious; 4) Performance; 5) FC; With a rating 0 (worst) to 5 (best) amount each competitor, which of the above model will get the highest score (max is 25). Kindly Comments For example, I think Mazda 6 will have a score of : 5 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 13 Edited January 5, 2009 by Axela72 ↡ Advertisement

Sorry, i forgotten to include suburu Legacy. Heard that there is a new verison coming out next year. Next, I thought Ceferio and Teana is the same. Just a change in name as this model is seen build in China quite sometime ago. Lastly, Accord should score 5 in spacious as it is the biggest car, right? How come is it rank last while Teana has the worst look (should score 1 for look) can manage be the best among the rest? IMHO...these are not luxury sedans in the first place...... it will help if you can stat the exact engine spec wihtin each model range you are comparing... Kelpie 2nd Gear January 4, 2009 Share January 4, 2009 to me Teana is the best looking. subjective. I think the current Accord is let down by its frontal appearance, otherwise it is quite a neat car. Regards,

Regards, Think Accord is more "lastinig" look. One look dun really like, second look, it look better. It takes some getting use to type. Lilke the size view of accord. Rear leg room seem very good if not the best among this group mentioned. Was put off only because it is MIT for that price?

That is the problem with globalization and corporate greed. China and less developed countries will be the manufacturing bases eventually. With the recent financial crsis, many auto makers have to really restructure their operations and this mean choosing a place where production cost is the lowest and hopefully not compromising QC. Side and rear view are ok, the frontal look probably needs more time to get use to. Read a car magazine that compares Accord, Teana and Camry and Accord wins in overall spaciousness. Regards, Sorry to sound rude, but China Accord were running on the road before the Thai made were import to Sin, likewise with the Camry too. Seem that new model are straight away MIT or MIC. Anyway, I was referring to if it is Thai made then it should be cheaper, that was the goal afterall? I dun think QC are compromised, made it was at the extreme end of the limit but still within tolerance. Of course this applies only to Jap or Conti car manufacture in these country and not the local brands to some extend.

If not, share price will go down and investors will go else where. The obvious thing to do is minimize production cost. I don't believe those craps that moving production plant outside of the host country will result in passing savings to the consumers. Production is one part of the process, you have to feed your marking channels, business partners, support division and etc along the way. Give you an example, branding and performance do play a part. In Taiwan, Altis, Civic and Lancer are made in Taiwan for local consumption. But look at their prices, it is actually the kind of price trend you have in Singapore. Civic still being the more expensive and sticky about their pricings. Regards,

The price gives me impression when I compare to PI and AD of the same make regardless if the version is different, say an Accord or Camry. I dun mind they make profit but at the end of the day, must give some back to customer and make customer happy with good aftr sales service. Or spec the car higher with lot of goodies with that price. Manufacturing cost lower is true, passing to cusumer agree 100% not pass to consumer. Which lead me to wonder, when Vietnam start making cars, wonder will anyone still buy these 6 cars? Taiwan side cannot comment much.

They are already making some of these cars if not parts for local consumption. At least, the one that we served, did not export to SEA but only for local market. Not happy can always complain to CASE mah . Anyway, cars are consider luxury good, it is willing buyers and sellers, unless good is not of satisfactory condition or not fulfilled accoridng to contract then you have a case. We can't tell ADs to sell at what prices, right? In Singapore, the consumers have no power to do this . Taiwan is an interesting market. Very much like Singapore but they get to manufactured Japanese cars of certian models/types for the local market. They also have the DVVTi Altis there, still sell less than Civic. Ahbengdriver 6th Gear January 4, 2009 Share January 4, 2009 The new accord is an ugly piece of $#%^. As someone said, why cant they learn from Stream n Jazz/Fit. Lets see, I serious think the accord will not sell well here.

Lets see, I serious think the accord will not sell well here. I find their design are quite consistent lately except for the Inspire, kinda out of place. I'm actually seeing more of them around. 3 friends bought the V6, 2.4 an 2L. One common comment, they like the Accord for its spaciousness and SIZE . By the way, this thread should be moved to the Japanese car forum instead. the moderators must be burnt out trying to migrate to the new Forum . So the most I can do is don't buy and come to MCF and voice opinion Remember Giodano use to do survey on the pricing, I think this is good for them and consumer. Now, U're right with no having no power! Only thing I noe with Taiwan car are they are made in Taiwan. Price wise still cheaper than Singapore. Ultimately for this tread I still give Accord. ↡ Advertisement
