The interior of i30 is supposed to target ppl who would be buying golf, or conti hatchbacks. Simple, u sit inside Avante and sit inside i30 and go for test drive. If you personally cannot feel anything better about the i30, u buy i30 also is liao lui right ? [laugh] I agree to the idea of sitting and drive around. But i suggest drive a few times first. The more cars you test , the more likely you will come into conclusion on what car to buy. On buying something that you will like driving for the next few years , you should never drive a car based solely on other's feedbacks. Korean cars , Japanese cars , Contis are good car makers , the only difference is in its pricing and marketing strategy. Some choose to go for luxury , some for practicality , some for price competitiveness. No point comparing here and there , ultimately you must be the one that is happy with your buy. As long as one's happy , whatever others say won't make much of a difference. Edited September 4, 2009 by CH_CO ↡ Advertisement

Korean cars are more price competitive as compared to japanese cars but COE isn't cheaper as compared to 3 months ago when i locked in my COE. I would rather wait for year end when COE prices drop. I like the look of i30 but hearing the FC difference i might still prefer my FIT. My first tank went for around 16km/L around 480km for 30 litres. Is it good or bad? If one don't intend to scrap his car or change his car in the next few years , prices won't be overpriced. It is not economically sensible for anyone to constantly changing his car every 2~3 years even if their car are slightly cheaper. There is too much premium to pay to dealers to make driving a cheaper car for a shorter period worthwhile. On the salesman point of view it is good business. To me , i view is as more chores. Chances are you are increasing your chances of default your loans as the frequency of taking a new loan increase. Ferraricalifornia 1st Gear September 4, 2009 Share September 4, 2009 is your fit the 1.3 version or the 1.5RS?? 16km/L is normal for a 1.3L car, not anything good...it also depends on how you drive and how many people you carry... for me, my uncle owns a Toyota Belta 1.3X...first 3 months been getting 16.5km/L...after that the consumption dropped to 13.5km/L now...he drives at 110kph max on highway, 60%city 40%highway, only weekends he'll load up the car... When going thru few threads, saw some postings that says i30 is actually rather overprice when launched which resulted in less i30 on road(not sure is it still true to now).. If this is true, maybe i shld consider avante instead. Hence wld appreciaet someone can kindly enlighten me here... Thanks... i think you will not go wrong with the avante. its selling even better than the altis.

Humblepie Neutral Newbie May 12, 2010 Share May 12, 2010 When my wife was out to get a new car last year, she test drove the VW Golf (the 1.6L model). No doubt she liked it and I told her that she should drive the i30 first before deciding on the Golf. For someone who would prefer the feel of a VW Golf she fell for the i30. I drive it occasionally as well and I cannot fail but marvel at how well it drives. The engine is smooth and has a bit a grunt as well but more importantly, the whole car especially the suspension is very well sorted out. Every time I drove it I tell myself that the Korean cars has come a very long way indeed. It will definitely beat a Corolla/Altis in the handling department. So impressed with this marque that when it came time for me to change out of my 2.4L Camry, I went for the i45 but that's another story.
