saw the ads in the papers. the price for this model has dropped. i think KMC has realized that the initiial high price resulted in low sales for the i30.

May be too little too late.

i30 can be considered as a luxury level among the Hyundai range compared to the cars like Avante. For bread and butter segment, there are plenty of cars that offer the cheaper A-B point function.

Better equipped car are better sold when the market is good where buyers tend to pay a little more for added equipment.

For a good car with its present sales record, it is simply a case of bad marketing.

It pays to be humble which I truly believe KMC has learned when introducing the Avante as the "Corolla killer".

imagine kmc priced the avante close to the altis when it just launched it. kena kiiled by the altis instantly. its good that the AD have woken up.

Supercharged

For that price, i would consider the Fit or Jazz. Better export value.

yeah agree... the price of i30 is still expensive.

come on... its a korean brand.... when comes to resale, it suffers....

That might be true but i think the reason why KMC price the car high is because of the quality that you are getting for the ride. Like some bros here mention, it is a luxury mode so if you are not willing to pay for so luxury, Avante will be a good choice to consider.

people prespective will change in due course. IMHO it is not the brand that should be consider but the quality of the car that you own.

I've test driven the i30 and I personally don't think the car is powerful/luxurious. It however, definately does not feel like a budget car in anyway.

Thus, the price should not be more than the impreza hatchback or Honda fit 1.5 if they really want the sales to move.

Did not test drive it but I saw a couple on the roads and it looks pretty good, esp the butt. The front is not impressive. If the handling is like a Mazda 3 (good as most have said)and priced approx $55k, it shd sell, IMHO.

The quality of i30 is more than a class above Jazz or Fit. I will said comparable to Golf. I don't drive one but I did test drive before. The ride for i30 is also very european.

Unfortunately, the handling of i30 is not like the mazda3, but well, its decent. Can't really fault it in the handling department.

U're right. If only the i30 is not more expensive then the impreza 1.5, it would sell well.

European only in the looks department.

Then ride refinement is far from a 60+K european car like:

- Citroen C4

- Renault Megane (2003 model)

- Ford Focus

- Skoda octavia

- Opel Corsa

- Peugeot 207

etc

etc
