What is Civic FD engine rpm at 100km/h?

Sunny 1.6M 100km/h @2500 rpm also [:p]

Honda city 1.5M 100km/h @30000 rpm [:(]

It is hig rev but without compromising fuel economy significantly. Since when did you hear Sunny is renown for its fuel economy at low rpm for 100Km/h?

Golden rule: Ideal rpm for lowest FC is the lowest rpm.

Btw, juz a "general" golden rule la. :D

Of course not taking the above word for word. Since taking into consideration for different makes of vehicles, i believe there is a cut-off point in spd/rpm("sweet speed") that will yield the best FC & not necc at lowest spd or rpm. IMHO....

I think the rule should be Efficiency in Combustion. How well do u burn the fuel and air mixture, not number of RPM.

This is a more reasonable explanation. Engine does count.

Don't get me wrong either, Of course if everything is the same(transmission, tyre, weight, density of air etc) then full agree, the golden rule is correct. Lowest RPM is better one! No doubt.

That why, I under this link: http://www.honda.com.sg/cars/torque.pdf , the 1.8M is 6.6L/100Km compare to 1.8A at 6.7L/100Km. But have to note it is not just talking about crusing but mix mode which I assume will be city and hiway driving.

1.8A top speed is 197km/h, but what is the 1.8M top speed?

so low mah? do you use stock tyres, how come mine is 2500rpm on 5th gear?

I am on 215/45/17 AD07, I think manual gear is higher RPM, the EK 4 manual is 3000rpm@90km/h on 5th gear with stock! [drivingcar]

yo bro, your explaination is wrong lah :( ... doesn't mean got power lost then RPM lower....arghh..it is due to the gear ratio. You can read up wikipedia to understand how gears work.....the power lost does not translate anything to the RPM. Power lost will be felt. (slower acceleration ) .....

Eh brother,i never say i'm correct leh.I say if not wrong. So i might be wrong leh.Of cuz i know it's gear ratio, but when going at final gear,it has lock-in clutch, thus the rpm would be lower,as it is lock to the engine speed instead of free rev,if that's what ppl call it.

ask civic drivers, do you notice that :D

thanks a lot [flowerface]

i believe different FD models(1.6,1.8,2.0 and Type R) have different gear ratios.

and also manual and auto trans usually are different too.
