Ooniik Neutral Newbie February 10, 2009 Share February 10, 2009 Hi all... Much of a newb to this DVD thingy... Need one for my son as he starts to get restless in the car. Driving a sedan and do not wish to remove or change my existing factory head unit system. What options are available? Saw the headrest monitor and player which allows you to swap you existing headrest with the player.... not too sure of the quality but it is sold in pairs... Also the one that Ahgongwolve showed, looks neat. has anyone installed. Any help or advise is much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Cheers...
Silver_blade Turbocharged February 10, 2009 Share February 10, 2009 Not sure about the one you mentioned. But for an easy setup without replacing your existing HU...you can try Nextbase (all-in-one; player/monitor attached to headrest, etc..), Phillips, etc.... nextbbase will be the more expensive options (even more if you use the model that come with an additional 'slave' monitor)...around $600 or more. The latter will set you back around $350 for a player/monitor and an additional monitor.

Now only strap onto headrest using velcro and is covered if not in use. The original headrest will be replace with aftermarket type where the monitor can be installed within the headrest. Letting go the existing monitor. Here's the pics of the existing set up.

Eddy_theddeus 1st Gear October 5, 2010 Share October 5, 2010 I once considered the headrest LCD monitor. It looks nice and presentable. However, since the stock headrest is designed with specific safety measures in mind, I drop the idea. I now have two detachable Nextbase LCD monitors that is secured by removable bags. One good thing about this is, I can remove the LCD anytime to hide away from preying eyes. This is useful when I go up to the North. Having a permanent LCD monitors only invite them to smash your cars to steal the equipment. Regards, hi bro wht is the feedback of this product care to share the price
