Kelpie 2nd Gear December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 I read this from a Blog :"I believe that people only want to take advice from those more successful than they are. One way to demonstrate to others that you are more successful is purchasing a luxury car such as a BMW or Mercedes." What do you think? stereotyping? Rickster 5th Gear December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 (edited) Although driving an expensive car does not mean u r rich, but it does mean that you have a certain level of income to pay for the installments and upkeep of the car. There is no way an ordinary peasant earning 3-4K can afford to drive n upkeep a luxury car. Edited December 18, 2008 by Rickster

Kusje Supersonic December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 Depends what kind of advice right? Obviously I wouldn't be taking financial advice from someone living in a HDB flat(depends on his age of course) if I wanted to do really well. If I'm looking for relationship advice etc, I would obviously be more willing to take it from someone successful in that arena and not someone with 10 cars. Latka 1st Gear December 18, 2008 Share December 18, 2008 If one has fully paid for his/her expensive car, dat is true and pure success. But it excludes those who cheated their company to fully pay for their BMW like Gigolo John. If one has taken out a long term loan to purchase his/her expensive car, not only is he/she not quite there yet, but a slave to his/her car. Just imagine if they run into financial hardship and can no longer finance their loans, their balls are just waiting to explode.
